Job 32:1–5
Some think that Elihu is the recorder of Job. This is speculation so not really important. The importance in these verses is that Elihu in his youth and ignorance spoke out of anger against his elders and God.
How often do we speak in anger? Is there truly a “righteous anger”?
Matthew 5:22 (NASB 2020)
But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be answerable to the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘You good-for-nothing,’ shall be answerable to the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.
Ephesians 4:26 (NASB 2020)
Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,
Colossians 3:8 (NASB 2020)
But now you also, rid yourselves of all of them: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene speech from your mouth.
I think that the above verses do not support Christians being angry. Not becoming anger would be a better witness.
Job 32:6–10
How often do we justify not listening to others? How often do we think because people are not Christians and don’t have God in them they are wrong? Elihu is in essence stating your words did not come from God so you don’t know.
Job 32:11–14
How often do we jump into a discussion thinking we have something new to say that will make the difference?
Job 32:15–22
How often do we think I am just being truthful and you will get it now? Not my fault they took it personal.
Consider
1 Corinthians 13:1–3 (NASB 2020)
If I speak with the tongues of mankind and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may glory, but do not have love, it does me no good.
This should make one stop and think about how we respond.
Job 33:1–7
Look out here I come with my “biblical” knowledge and God on my side. But I am no better than you. How often do we hear false humility. 17 times he uses “my, me, I” only 3 times did he refer to God. Seems backwards to me. I think that is one way to tell a sincere person: who is the focus of his words.
Job 33:8–12
Sounds like Elihu paid attention, right? Let’s see

Seems like Elihu is missing some important information.

Here is a list of ways that God talks to us or gets our attention. We all can think of examples these happened to us.

Yet we have an interceder that petitions us before God.

Once again the self attitude “Sit back and bask in my brilliance.”
