Text: Hebrews 4:12-13 (NIV)

12 (IIA) For the word of God is living and active. (IIB) Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; (IIC) it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 (IIIA) Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. (IIIB) Everything is uncovered and laid bare (IIIC) before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.[1]

1.       The Word Is A Sharp Tool

2.       The Word Makes A Piercing Cut

C.      The Dissection Of The Sword: An Exact Incision

1.       The Sword Targets The Location Of The Heart

2.       The Sword Exposes The Condition Of The Heart

III.   We Are Penetrated By The Gaze Of The Lord: God Sees Us As We Are

A.      Completely Examined

1.       The Boundary Of Examination

2.       The Futility Of Evasion

B.      Clearly Exposed

1.       Everything is Uncovered

2.       Everything is Discovered

C.      Correctly Evaluated

1.       With God’s Accurate Vision

2.       With God’s Accurate verdict
