· Romantic relationships, friendships, academics, passions, hobby, social issues, entertainment

· Chased for a long time, never fulfilled
o How do we know this purpose wont leave us feeling the same?
Is it really our purpose
· Truth
o The question of the purpose of life has been around for thousands of years… many have wrestled with it… some have got it right… some not.
o Tonight we are going to look at someone who thought he had it right… Saul

§ Saul thought he knew God
o Acts 9:1-6 His purposedestroy Christianity
§ Saul’s life gets interrupted by Jesus
§ This is lion Jesus not lamb Jesus
o Acts 9:19-22
§ Saul caused havoc for Christians
§ Jesus interrupted His life… transformed it and he went on to cause havoc for the gospel
o What happened to Saul…
§ When Jesus transformed his life his eyes were open to his true purpose… and he immediately began pursuing it
o To know Him He was with the disciples
§ Gaining more wisdom and understanding
o To make Him known Proclaiming in the synagogues
§ Telling others about Jesus and the gospel
o Saul re-oriented his life around the one true purpose of life: to know him and make him known

o What purpose are you pursuing?
§ Sports, academics, relationships, etc
§ Your purpose is misplaced not in those things
o God can use your passions and personality in your purpose
§ Saul caused havoc before Jesus… still did after just oriented around his true purpose
