Depend on God

Isaiah 30:15 (NIV)

15This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says:

“In repentance and rest is your salvation,

in quietness and trust is your strength,

but you would have none of it.

I.            Introduction:

We can depend on God. Others will let us down. God is our salvation and strength. As we rely on him we will not be disappointed. Dependence on anyone or anything else for salvation and strength will result in disappointment.

II.         Depend On God for Salvation

A.           The Necessary attitude

1.            The Attitude of Repentance

2.            The Attitude of Rest

B.           The Desired Effect

1.            Salvation from God

2.            Salvation for You

III.      Depend On God For Strength

A.           The Necessary Attitude

1.            The Attitude of Quietness

2.            The Attitude of Trust

B.           The Desired Effect

1.            Strength from God

2.            Strength for You    

IV.        Conclusion:

Turn away from all those who promise deliverance but are destined to fail, for salvation comes from God alone and He alone is the source of our strength.
