This is the last of a major section of Isaiah.
We saw that for the most part Isaiah 1-6 came together.  A message of warning and the people tuning God out.  Only leading us to see God revealed to the prophet.  And a message of rejection would be preached.  Isaiah was not being sent to be received but rejected.  The people would not repent but harden their hearts.
There is a second section 7-12 called the book of Emmanuel.  This is a message of a king that is greater than Ahaz and Pekah and Rezin or even Tilgathpilzer.  The messiah is the shoot from Jesse's stump.  He will establish a kingdom that will be marked by holy peace and unity.  A kingdom that is marked by his glory so much that it will change the very nature of creation itself.
Text:  Isaiah 12 1-6
Opener:
Highlight the names of the Messiah.
LORD
Strength
Song
Salvation
Exalted Name
Doer of Excellent things
Holy One
Don’t miss JEHOVAH
This is fitting that they are highlighting these names because they are singing a song.
“When is this song being sung?”
The song that Israel will sing during the Reign of the Messiah.   Salvation enjoyed...no longer hoped for it is being experenced.
Context:  vs 4 who is the ye not these exact people but Judah will.
"thou" - inhabitant of Zion
The wrath of God is behind them...
Isaiah 7-8
Wrath              I Trouble
Remnant    I Kingdom
L----------------------T
"In that day" - Kingdom of Emmanuel.
The rulers of the world will removed from off their neck.  Is 11.11-12
The Description of Hope:
The Lord Jehovah (LORD) is my strength and my song.  He also is my salvation.
Jesus is a Greek and Latin into English.  Jesus is a Latin name even now.  Hebrew is Yeshua...Salvation is from God.  Isaiah's name means the same thing.
Jehovah - is written 4 in the Hebrew Bible.
But it is written 1000s of times.  They name of God is holy and would be used very sparingly.  The word would be written the LORD.  On purpose it is written so that you know that you are reading the word Jehovah without risking it being taken lightly.  We know that lord is a ruler.  We know that Lord is a proper name.  We know that LORD is Jehovah.
The tetragramatron is YHVH in English in Hebrew I7I7
No vowels... YHVH and Jehovah
Jehovah is an old fashioned way
Yahweh is more modernly accepted.  Yahweh isn’t actually really a good pronunciation the V would be pronounced as “v”.
Jesus is Jehovah... He is GOD.
Peter calls him the Holy One.
Mark 8:29 KJV 1900
And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.
Demons
Mark 1:24 KJV 1900
Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
JW heresy:  Jesus is not God.  He was a son of God (created being).
They claim Jehovah is God and Jesus was his servant.  NO - Jesus is Jehovah.  He is the Yahweh that Moses Worshiped, Elijah Worshiped.  Jacob worshiped.
Jesus - I Am that I AM - "Moses would have worshipped".
We draw water out of the wells of salvation.
They are speaking of being saved because they have the Kingdom and no nation is trying to remove them anymore.
In chapter 10-11 they were looking for hope...in Chapter 12 they have found him.
