The Refuge of Repentance
Our refuge, the castle of protection, is found in God alone.
We can seek refuge in our own abilities, in governments, or in some other power of person or power.
All of these will let us down.
The lion destorys our soul, our breath is gone becuase we put hope in those who had no power.
Our fidelity to God will be judged by how we trust others.
Will God be faithful to those who show no love to their own frieds?
Will God have compassion on us if we refuse to show compassion to our enemies.
What am I but an enemy of God if I abuse the people God puts in my life.
If I can not hold out the grace of God to my enemies should I expect God’s grace?
The Glory of God is seen in his love for me while I was still his enemy.
May I never fail to live my life in the shadow of his glory!
God judges us all.
None escape form his throne of righteousness.
He will settle accounts withmy enemies, but also with me.
Praise God that he is also my defender.
God is judge, jury, executioner, and most importantly, my defender.
The way out from the hangman’s noose is repentnace.
God will forgive and redeem the one who will admit his sin and walk humbly before God.
In our return to God we find grace and love.
We offer thanks because God does this not out of some debt he owes humanity.
It comes from his own righteousness.
God the author of life and the one who set history in motion has determined what is right for me.
I praise God for his willingness to accpet my repentence and give me a plce in his forever family.
Prayer
Mighty God, I am humbled in your presence.
You are awesome in power and just in all your ways.
I repent of my sin and turn my face to you knowing your grace and mercy flow like a river from your throne.
Guard and guide my steps today, keep me on your path., and protect me from the evil one.
Amen.
