How the Devil is Using the Pandemic . . .
with the Saints
Genesis 3:1-6; John 10
Genesis 3 (NKJV)
3
Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had
made.
And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the
garden’?”
And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of
the fruit of the tree, which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor
shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”
2
Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.
5 For God knows that in the
day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
4
6
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and
a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate.
She also gave to her husband
with her, and he ate.
7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they
were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.
8
And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and
Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the
garden.
Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” 10 So he said, “I
heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
9
And He said, “Who told you that you were naked?
Have you eaten from the tree of which I
commanded you that you should not eat?” 12 Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave
to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.”
11
And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”
The woman said, “The
serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

This morning’s message is a continuation of a message I began prior to Easter Sunday entitled
How the Devil is Using the Pandemic . . .
against the Church.
This message is intended to expose Satan’s deceptive tactics against the church and to slow
down, if not crush, the potential infighting and confusion now on the brew in some of God’s
Houses – Grace Place included because of his brutal campaign to sift the church.
But just as Satan desired to have Peter and sift him, Jesus has prayed for the church that the gates
of hell should not prevail against her.
So, How is the Devil Using the Pandemic . . .
against the Church and the Saints?
In general, he has done what he is a master at doing – taking something that God has made and
creating a counterfeit; or taking something that God intended for good and turning it into
something evil.
Satan always works to devise an opposite effect of what God ordains.
If God meant a thing for
good, then you can believe that Satan is on the other end to twisting it to bring ruin and chaos.
If
God meant for a thing to have life [bring life], then you can bank on the fact that the devil is
cooking up a way to kill it, steal it, and destroy it.
This morning, I want to finishing addressing a side of the pandemic that will probably go
unaddressed in most Christian Church circles.
This is my attempt to provide GP with as
complete and as clear a picture of the events of the past two years, so that we’ll experience no
blind spots in understanding what might be awaiting the world, America in particular, in the next
two years.
Given that, I want to expose how Satan has taken the two-year pandemic -- which God has used
to bless and mature the church (more than harm the church) – and has turned it into a matter of
confusion and unspiritual-like conduct throughout the Body of Christ.
That should not be.
The pandemic has proven to be more of a blessing and not a curse throughout the universal
church – that is, if the churches were attuned to what the Spirit was saying to them.
So far in this in this message, we have addressed two of three ways in which Satan is and will
continue to use everything about the pandemic to fight against God – in particular His church
and His Children.
The first way he has used the pandemic against the church is . . . .
1. To Bring Division – Though we are called out to be ONE church in Christ, the pandemic
has given Satan a ready platform to divide God’s people.
Mark 3:25 says:
25And
if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
Because of the big divide, some churches have split, others closed permanently
[sometimes over nothing but selfishness and politics], -- and yet among the church
members a lot of love has been lost as relationships have suffered due to hard feelings
and disagreements.
Satan has and is using the tenacles of the pandemic to divide the
church.
Despite his attempts to divide the church – especially locally, the Apostle Paul reminds
us of what our priority is against any type of division, that is, in Ephesians 4: 3
3
[To] endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
The second way the devil is using the pandemic against the church is to:
2. To Create a Distraction within the Body of Christ; It is clear that God used the
pandemic to bring an experience of “Divine Intervention” for the church, but Satan made
it a Distraction.
He is working continuously to draw the church into a secular thinking
mode.
Among the saints and the church, he has used the pandemic as a diversion to get the
Saints off “mission” – mainly to stop focusing on God and making disciples.
That brings us to the THIRD way the devil is using the pandemic against the church.
