In our day the family is under attack, and motherhood in particular. Women are told that career is more important than having children.

A High Calling

Motherhood is a High Calling that Requires God’s Strength.
“By faith Sarah received power to conceive offspring...”
Isaac was a miraculous baby. His conception and birth required help from the Lord.
A mother is uniquely gifted to birth a child, but the process is also a moment of great vulnerability. It requires the Lord’s empowerment to birth and raise a child
What you do in the home and for the children God has given you will have far more lasting impact that any job.

A Holy Calling

Motherhood is a Holy Calling that Requires Faith in God’s Promises.
“she considered the One who had promised was faithful.” Go to Genesis 18:9-15
Sarah played a role in God’s Holy plan of redemption, she received the promise by faith. In so doing, she was instrumental to passing on her faith to many generations.
Mothers are placed in the unique position to pass on their faith from the earliest age.
2 Tim 1:5 “I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well.”
The godly mothers of Scripture were marked by their sincere faith and steadfast prayers for their children. Commit your children to the Lord by prayer, Bible reading and sincere worship.

A Happy Calling

Motherhood is a Happy Calling that yields a Heavenly Reward.
Gen 21:6-7 “And Sarah said, “God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh over me.” And she said, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.””
Psalm 127:3 ESV
3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.
The daily challenges of motherhood require a faith in God’s heavenly reward. Hebrews 11:13-16
