Transition

There are times when I find myself looking at life through the wrong perspective. If we are not careful we will fall susceptible to valuing the things that are temporary more than the things that are eternal. Tonight as we study through 2 Corinthians and the gospel of Matthew we will see the importance of focusing on the right things.

Bottom Line

Our perspective affects our direction.

Bible Verse

2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

* We must review our attitude toward Christianity.

Breakdown

We we are only focused on the things of this world we will find ourselves prioritizing the wrong things. Some of us have become captive to our statuses, our talents, or our desires and it has caused us to accept a convenient christianity.
When we are only focused on the temporary we end up missing the things that God is trying to show.

Bottom Line

Our perspective affects our direction.

Bible Verse

Matthew 24:35 NIV
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

* God and His truths are eternal.

Breakdown

We will begin crossing from convenience too committed when we stop pursuing our image and start pursuing His truths. The bridge between a growing believer and a complacent believer is divided by the perspective and things we choose to establish our lives around.
Am I more rooted in culture or Christ?
Am I willing to give up my convenience for God’s perspective?
What is it in my heart that I am unwilling to give over to God?

Bottom Line

Our perspective affects our direction.
