Isaiah 40:31but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Introduction:
I believe that most of us would agree that the society we live in today has granted us the priveledge of most things are convenient for us.
We have fast food now.
We have Direct deposit now where most of us dont even have to wait until the our check is cleared.
I remember being in college away from home and if I needed some funds my family would have to western union me money.
We have cash app now, when we dont have to western union any money to our relatives anymore its immediately available.
Some would call it the microwave society.
Everything we do is conveniently.
Although Im very appreciative of the many benefits of convenience, I must admit that because everything is so convenient it makes it difficult more me deal with the process of waiting.
Because often times God does not work at our convenience,
It was Jesus that inconvenienced Mary and Martha, when he found out their brother, and Jesus friend had passed, because he waited two more days where he was.
The sister responded if you would have only been hear our brother wouldn’t have passed.
Jesus response was, show me where you buried him.
My brothers and sisters many of us would have had the same response as martha Lord if you have been here.
But How many know that his ways are as far as our ways as far as the heavens adore from the earth.
Although Jesus did not respond to when they wanted him to respond when he got there he spoke to the grave and Lazarus came forth, in other words it was worth the wait.
The question I have for us is How do we respond when things don't come as soon as we want them to come.
Are we willing to wait.

The writer begins with the question, have thine not known, hast though heard that the everlasting Goid the creator of the ends of the fainteth not either is weary, there is no searching of his understanding.
In other words God was not tired of the children of israel. He has not grown weary of the the children of isreal. Regardless of everything that had taken place he was still had a plan to bring them out, They shouldnt try to undersand his plan, but rather wait on his plan to come to fruition, some may say why not try to understand, well the scripture explains to us that there is no searching of his understanding, Hes God alone, He’s a soveregn God, He can do what he wants when he wants, However we must be certain that although it may look like our waiting is in vain, He reminds that, I know the thoughts that I think towards for you thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you an expected end.
My brothers and sisters sometimes the answer to our prayers may not be yes, sometimes the answer to our prayers may not be no, Sometimes the answer to our prayer is to wait.
Isaiah 40 gives us some of the The benefits of waiting on God:
1.Renewed strength
Example of working out How i took a break. however when I went back to the gym I thought I would have the same strentgh that I had when I stopped. However, I learned that I had to renew my strength. I had to wait, I to continue pressing, I continue lifting and sooner or later, I saw my strenght come back. My brothers and sisters life has a way of taking our strength, with trials tribulations, However we need to continue waiting, However waiting does not mean sitting and doing nothing it requires us to work and while we work God build strength within us. Im waiting and praying, Im waiting and fasting and waiting and praying, James 1:2 confirms with us to consider it pure joy when we face trials of many kinds, because we know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance, in other words its through our trials and our waiting that Gods makes us stronger, he gives us renewed strength.
3.Not only does waiting on the lord renew our strengths but we shall wings as eagles--
Difference in eagles wings, they dont have to flap as much.
4. Run and not be weary, walk and not faint-
track—Be not weary in well doing in due season you shall reap if you faint not.
Run and not be weary
