Stand- his-tay-mee

in Greek means “To stand, abide, and continue” (Strong’s #2476)
Withstand- anth-is-tay-mee
Means in Greek: to stand against, oppose, and resist.” (Strong’s #436)
James 4:7 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Helmet of Salvation in verse 17 is also mentioned in 1 Thessalonians 5:8 “But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.”
The plum on the Roman helmet showed two things, first it showed the battalion affiliation, and second it identified the military campaigns that the soldier had been on.
