And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

GUIDE

Psalm 23:2–3 ESV
He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Make me lie down in green pasture
1. Sheep has to be free from all fear
2. Free from friction (fights)
3. Free from flies or parasites
4. Has to have full stomach
LEADS ME BESIDE STILL WATER
Still water - WHY (afraid of rushing water)
Must guide them to food and water
Can’t find pasture. Starve to death
They have to be led
No homing instincts like a cat or a dog
Donkey -know his master’s crib
Robber left donkey
Sheep get lost so easy
HE LEADS ME IN THE PATH OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
In every instance we see David in trouble - he left the path of righteousness and followed a path of his own creation
Think of the times you followed your own path
Proverbs 21:2 ESV
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart.
Proverbs 14:12 ESV
There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.
BUT THANKS BE TO GOD YOU FOUND YOUR WAY BACK
more than likely it was because you were disciplined
Psalm 23:4 ESV
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Hebrews 12:5–6 ESV
And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.”
Hebrews 12:10–11 ESV
For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness. For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
Ecclesiastes 8:11–12 ESV
Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil. Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and prolongs his life, yet I know that it will be well with those who fear God, because they fear before him.
