Genesis 1:27–28 NKJV
27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

‘Subdue the Earth’

1. Of course the first question, what does it mean to subdue?

3: to bring (land) under cultivation

life has to be participated in, most good things don’t ‘just happen.

Genesis 2:19 NKJV
19 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name.

Like Adam, We are intended to work with The Lord on His plan for our lives.

Ephesians 2:10 NKJV
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Psalm 139:16 NKJV
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.
so we cultivate our lives under the direction of the Lord.
we still need do our part in cultivating our lives.
in farming you are working with God, in our own lives.

2. How do we determine our priorities when cultivating?

Jeremiah 29:4–7 NKJV
4 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, to all who were carried away captive, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem to Babylon: 5 Build houses and dwell in them; plant gardens and eat their fruit. 6 Take wives and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, so that they may bear sons and daughters—that you may be increased there, and not diminished. 7 And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.
i. Build your house:
Prepare a place for a spouse and a family.
in biblical times, men (grooms) would actually construct a house for the wife and later a family to live in.
so when Marry was found with child she would have been living with Joseph's family. by the by Marry would have been learning Joseph's favorite foods etc.
of course, we don’t actually build houses anymore but we do get ourselves together financially.

ii. Plant gardens:

of course like the above, most of don’t actuality eat out of gardens. We do need to know how to balance a budget and do other financial things like saving and investing.
I want to say this. if you are in a halfway house, if you in a decent spot like the 82. stay there, save money, by a cash car, repair your credit, pay up child support.

iii. Take wives:

This is something that we do good around here. {not actually getting married but shacking up}
we always think that new love will make everything better.
but we need to make ourselves ready for relationship.

iv. Have sons and daughters, and take wives for your son’s and daughters.

the way you build a nation is to build a family.
nations are built on family's.
families build values.
Deuteronomy 6:7 NKJV
7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

v. Seek the peace of the city.

seek the Lord as you put your life back together.
Psalm 105:4 NKJV
4 Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!
