John declared in:
John 1:29 (NASB95) The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
But his description of the Lamb doesn’t hold a candle to what he and we will see on that Great day yet to come!
Revelation 19:5–9 (NASB95) And a voice came from the throne, saying, “Give praise to our God, all you His bond-servants, you who fear Him, the small and the great.”
6 Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying, “Hallelujah!
For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.
7 “Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.”
8 It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
9 Then he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’
” And he said to me, “These are true words of God.”
Revelation 21:22–27 (NASB95) I saw no temple in it [the New Jerusalem], for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
23 And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.
24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.
25 In the daytime (for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed; 26 and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it; 27 and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
Let us rejoice tonight that our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
That we will soon walk the streets of the New Jerusalem where the Lamb is the Light
Let us pray for those whose names are NOT written in that Book that they will repent and surrender their lives to the Lamb.
So that we all together will soon join with all those who have gone before, many from this church, in the past several months, at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.
Where we will join with the saints declaring:
Hallelujah!
For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.
