Prayer
The sobering reality of man
At first, considering that all of us are from dust, and will ultimately return to dust is perhaps not particularly comforting.
But what this does make clear is that we are all on equal footing.
People may enjoy certain temporary advantages over others in this life, but we are all crated by God, we are all under the sovereign rule of God, and we will all leave this world according to His design
But as we gather here together beside Carol’s grave, consider
The glorious reality of the redemption of Jesus
So, while all of us are from dust and will ultimately return to dust, the death of our bodies does not have the final say.
Thanks be to God, Carol came to profess this understanding about her life and about what Jesus accomplished for her.
Those who have placed their faith in Christ alone for the forgiveness of their sins do not dread the grave.
The grave marks the beginning of their resurrected lives.
And so, we will conclude this internment by hearing the words of John in his revelation from God
