1st Samuel 30 1-8, 18.19
Subject
You are going to recover!
Introduction
My brothers and my sisters, I believe we have all had different experiences in the year
For some of us we can look back at lives band we can say that it was not many battles. We may can look back and say we didn’t have to defeat any obstacles. We didn’t have to go through turmoil, We didn’t have as many trials that we had to endure.
But for others of us we can look back at our lives and we can say that we had to fight, in other words, We had to overcome many obstacles. We had to overcome many temptations, We had to go through many trials in order to get to this point.
many of us have lost some things to get to this point.
only material things. However some us have lost our Joy.Some us has lost our peace. Some of us have lost our families, our zeal for God.
But this is the season when your going to pursue everything that you lost in the past.
Is there anyone here that can say I want everything that back that God has for me.
.
In the text we hear of a king by the name of David. David is a familiar character to most of us.
David’s story is told in both( 1st 2nd Samuel)book The Bible shows him develop from shepherd boy, to warrior, to fugitive, to king, to failure,to exile, to restoration as king.
David ‘s constantly trying or attempting to pursue until he becomes the king of Israel
David was the ultimate King of Israel.. he was the standard in which other kings were to be measured by.
During this time. Israel was transitioning between Judges and Kings
Saul being the first king, David being the second)
During both of their reigns as King of Israel, both Saul and David had a common enemy, these enemies were called the Amalekites.
They were constantly in war with the Amalakites.
However, during the reign of Saul, God commanded Saul to kill all of the amalekites,
However, Saul did not kill all of the Amalekites he spared the good spoil and also the King Agag.
Now we see because Saul,Disobedience did not killing the army completely, years later David and his men now have to deal with what should have been killed years ago.
I said that because there are some things in our life. That we must have to make up in our mind that we are going to kill it now so it will not affect us in years down the line.
There are some things in our life that we have to make up in our mind that it bothered my last year. It almost destroyed me last year but Im not going to let it bring me down. Their is a saying that sometimes we have to kill it before it kill us.
We have to kill pride and replace it with humility. Because the Bible said that God, resist the proud but give grace to the humble.
We have to kill hate and replace it
With love. Why because the Bible says
Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.
We have to killl.
As we get to the current text.
Throughout the history of Israel we find them in a constant battle with the Amalakites. Saul who had the perfect opportunity to end the battle did not end it.
David was fighting with Allies the philistines in a battle not having to do with with the Amalakites.
However David and his men were discharge from the the battle..
David and his men were sent home to be with their families
they were expecting to hug and kiss their families when they returned home
However they were surprised to get to the city and see that the City was nearly burnt down and all of their wives and children were taken captive.
David and his men Marched about 80 miles which is estimated it would take 3 days to get back to their city Ziglag.
While they were on their way. thats when the attack took place.
The enemy want to attack were you are going.
The 6th verse of the 30th chapter of 1 Samuel reads that David was greatly distressed and even his own men that he went to battle with begin wanted to destroy him. However if you read the further in the 6th verse it reads that David Strengthened himself in the Lord.
Is there anyone here that can say there have been times were I had to strengthen myself in the Lord. There’s been times were I had encourage myself that in spite of everything that Im going through Im gonna make it through it. There have been times when I wanted to throw in the towel. There have been times when I thought about giving up. However I had to wipe away my tears roll up my sleeves and encourage myself.
. If you can’t find anyone to help you push to your goals. Encourage yourself that you make it. If you can’t find anyone to tell you that you are somebody.. Tell yourself Im somebody. As a matter of fact just look at the person next to you and say neighbor Just in case you can’t get in contact with me…. Don’t be afraid to encourage yourself.
David although disappointed Decided that he was going to strengthen himself(encourage) himself in the Lord.
After David Strengthened himself in the Lord. He Prayed Lord what shall I do. God responded Pursue for you Shall recover all.
I don’t have time to tell you the entire story however we read the 18 and the 19 verse that Read, So, David Recovered all that enemy had stolen from. Him. He recovered their wives He recovered their children, He recovered their spoil. Not only did He recover what belonged tho them but he recovered even some of the enemies cattle.
God restored all and SOME.
Just as David and his lost somethings and recovered it all back so can we.
There are three things that David Did in order Recover all.
One may ask yes, I see David recovered but how can I recover….
Let’s just look at David
When we are looking to recover it all I want to introduce you to the Spiritual Recovery Plan
The PPR plan- Pray, Pursuit, Recover All.
The first part of the plan is to pray.
Point 1: David prayed
He inquired of God what would you have me to do.He inquired the will of God. Before he pursued he wanted to be sure it was in Gods will
God encourages his people through prayer when they are in a difficult situation. It’s often through prayer and supplication that God work will give instructions on how to get everything that you have been asking.
Philippians 4:6 states Be anxious for nothing. But in everything by prayer and supplication submit your request unto God.
Is there anybody in here that can testify that I know it was prayer that brought me out this year. I know it was prayer that kept my mind this year . I know it was prayer that Keptthis year.
James 5:16 stated that prayers of a righteous man availeth much.
When David Prayed he heard the voice of God and God moved on his behalf.
When you pray it moves the hand of him who moves the world.
The older saints used say keep praying don’t stop praying. Pray in the morning, Pray in the noon day. Pray when the sun go down.
Is there anyone here that can say there’s some things that I have prayed for that I have not seen come to pass yet. However I come to tell you to Keep praying.
Pray u ntil you recover your children.
Pray until you get the Job,
Pray until you see yourself how God see you.
1st point was David prayed After prayer. God gave revelation to pursue.
Second of the plan is pursuit
Point 2: David pursued
He went after what was stolen from him.
Many people although we pray. often times don’t get the very thing that we are praying for because we are not willing to pursue. The word Pursue means to to chase after someone or something. David thought about his family and he pursued after with all he had. Is in there anyone in here that can say I have some things that God has spoken over my life. I have some goals that I set.
I come to encourage you that its your time to pursue after it.
Don’t allow another year to go by with pursuing it.
Don’t let distractions and doubters stop your pursuit.
Don’t let Hardship stop your pursuit, Don’t let friends stop your pursuit.
Look at someone and tell them Don’t lose your pursuit.
We must remain focused on the very thing that God has promised us.
1st thing David did was prayed, 2nd thing he did was pursued and the 3rd final thing did was
Last Part of the plan is recover!
Point 3 David recovered all!!
The Bible did not say he recovered some of things he had prayed for, neither did it say he recovered most of the things he prayed for, However, the bible declares he recovered all.
There is a song that says I’m reaping the harvest God promised me. Take back what the devill stole from me, and I rejoice today, for I shall recover it all.
I don’t know about you but I want ALL God has for me this year.
LOOK at someone say “IN ___________ Don’t be afraid to walk in your ALL season.
The definition of stimulus is something that rouses activity or energy in someone or something; a spur or incentive its a spark.
This morning I can't give all the the government offered but can I give you a spiritual stimuli. A spiritual spark. A spiritual incentive to push you to recover all back.
Spiritual Stimulus
Im going to recover all.
Joel 2:25-I will restore unto the years that the cankerworm has stolen
God can restore you back.
Im going to get a Rapid Recovery.
Every year, your refund is calculated as the amount withheld for federal income tax, minus your total federal income tax for the year. A large portion of the money being withheld from each of your paychecks does not actually go toward federal income tax.
During this process the government pays you back everything that that was withheld from you the previous year.
However they have what is considered a Rapid Recovery. During this process what should takes a couple months only takes a couple of days.
Is there anyone here that can testify that I’m getting ready to have a rapid recovery. Everything that was withheld from me last year. God’s getting ready to give it to me this year.
David recovery all that was stolen from him.
Summary.
We have to make up in our mind that Im going, to Pray, Im going to pursue and Im going to recover all.
In your finances, Pray pursuit and recover all.
In your family, Pray, Pursuit and recover all.
In your career, Pray, Pursuit and recover all.
to pursue it with all that you have.
Pursue it like your family depends on.
Pursue it as if my life depends on it.
Recover all the ideas, All the resources.
Walk in pursuit of your purpose. Don’t allow those around to discourage you but to encourage yourself in the Lord. However when you see where God is taking you. I have to pursue it. Those around may follow.
God will provide means of recovery to those who seems as though they have lost it all.
Theres was a woman with an issue of blood who had lost her health, she saw Jesus from afar, she pressed her way to get him. She pursued after him, she said that I may touch the hem of his garment. I will be made whole. And when she touched his garment the virtue that was in him, went to the hem and got into her, and immediately she was made whole.
There is another person who Prayed, Pursuit and then recovered all.
I know we are approaching Easton and we are officially in Lent season which is the period of 40 days which comes before Easter in the Christian calendar. Beginning on Ash Wednesday, Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter. By observing the 40 days of Lent, we replicate Jesus Christ's sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 and prayed before he recovered all.
Christ is inquired of the lord, pursued death, but he recovered all with his resurrection. He had all power in his hand.
Some us are looking to recover somethinga before next month this time.
I challenge you to pray, pursue and recover all
Walk in your season on the P, p r plan. PRAY, PURSUE and RECOVER ALL THAT GOD HAS IN STORE FOR YOU.
