Be Hopeful, Be Filled, Be Shaped By My Spirit

Revival or Amusement?

People from Jerusalem and from all of Judea and all over the Jordan Valley went out to see and hear John.
It was REVIVAL!
And when they confessed their sins, he baptized them in the Jordan River.
Then speaking to the religious: Pharisees and Sadducees…
When John realized that a lot of Pharisees and Sadducees were showing up for a baptismal experience because it was becoming the popular thing to do, he exploded: “Brood of snakes! What do you think you’re doing slithering down here to the river? Do you think a little water on your snakeskins is going to make any difference?
Prove the Way you live.
Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.
“Produce fruit worthy of repentance.” (WEB)
-it’s not enough to be Abraham’s descendants.
-you can’t just be good.
-no outward form can make you clean.
-works are vain.
The WATER isn’t the Catylist for salvation—YOU MUST CONFESS and BELIEVE.

“I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am—so much greater that I’m not worthy even to be his slave and carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

ROSE BUSH GRAFT
Arizona — city parks… root stock with Naval Orange grafted on them to survive the colder temps.
-people don’t say, “wow! look at that beautiful Root Stock!”
-they identify with the fruit it produces. (Matt. 7:20)
Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
So throw all spoiled virtue and cancerous evil in the garbage. In simple humility, let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life.
Thus we recognize one another by who we are above the GRAFT!
So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now!
So the seed takes root in our heart and bears forth a harvest.
Mark 4: is about the Seed and the Sower.
God’s Word has been sown into our hearts and is growing a new Vine.

But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!
FOCUSING ON THE FIRST PART is our LIFE —NOT THE LAST PART
We Must Think ABOVE the Graft.
THE END RESULTS — Wellspring of Life
Watch over your heart with all diligence,
For from it flow the springs of life.
But the godly will flourish like palm trees
and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon.
For they are transplanted to the Lord’s own house.
They flourish in the courts of our God.
He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
GOING BACK TO OUR OLD LIFE IS LIKE LIVING LIFE FROM THE OLD STOCK
JESUS WILL...
“Baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.”
And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.
So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.”
Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’ ” (When he said “living water,” he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into his glory.)
Then I thought of the Lord’s words when he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’

Today is the day say NO...
-to religiousness
-to wayward living
-to seeking your way
-to rejecting ALL that God has for you.
TO RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT that burns the chaff in our lives.
