Numbers 14:22–24 NKJV
22 because all these men who have seen My glory and the signs which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have put Me to the test now these ten times, and have not heeded My voice, 23 they certainly shall not see the land of which I swore to their fathers, nor shall any of those who rejected Me see it. 24 But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.
The Book of Exodus details the deliverance of the children of Israel from both Pharoah and Egypt.
That all would know

God is The Lord

Exodus 6:3 NKJV
3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name Lord I was not known to them.
Moses would see
++More than God’s Strength
++More than God’s ability
++More than God’s Provision
++God’s full authority
Exodus 6:6 NKJV
6 Therefore say to the children of Israel: ‘I am the Lord; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.

Moses Introduces Israel to God as Lord.

By His Sovereign will Israel’s
++Burden would be lifted
++Bondage would be broken

This experience is much like Christians today

We too
++Were held captive
++Started in bondage

Jesus is the answer

Matthew 11:28 NKJV
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Only through Him
++Can our load be lifted
++Our burden Lightened
++Do we find rest
++Do we find redemption
Galatians 4:4–5 NKJV
4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
Jesus was sent by God
++To bring redemption
++To bring adoption
Exodus 6:7 NKJV
7 I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
Lordship is
++Relational
++Experiential
Hebrews 2:3 NKJV
3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him,

Don’t Miss Your Moment

Numbers Chapter 13 closes with
Moses sent spies into Canaan
++12 were sent
++10 returned with an evil report
++Two came back with a good report
Number 14 picks up after the evil report
Numbers 14:3–4 NKJV
3 Why has the Lord brought us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and children should become victims? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?” 4 So they said to one another, “Let us select a leader and return to Egypt.”
Their answer expressed
++Understanding that the Lord brought them there
++Agreement with the report
++Misunderstanding of God’s purpose

You will miss your moment if your fear undermines your trust in God

Numbers 14:6–8 NKJV
6 But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; 7 and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. 8 If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’
Numbers 14:10 NKJV
10 And all the congregation said to stone them with stones. Now the glory of the Lord appeared in the tabernacle of meeting before all the children of Israel.

You will miss your moment if you are not willing to stand in the minority

Matthew 7:13 NKJV
13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
Matthew 7:21 NTMS:ITEETRGT
21 “Not every one who says to me, ‘Master, Master,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only those who are obedient to my Father in Heaven.

God took their position personal

They accepted Moses’ leadership
++as long as it benefitted them
++As long as they could guide it

You will miss your moment if you history is greater than your dreams

Numbers 14:11–12 NKJV
11 Then the Lord said to Moses: “How long will these people reject Me? And how long will they not believe Me, with all the signs which I have performed among them? 12 I will strike them with the pestilence and disinherit them, and I will make of you a nation greater and mightier than they.”
God’s will is not limited
++by our cooperation
++by our obedience
Esther 4:14 NKJV
14 For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

You will Miss your Moment if you despise the promise of God

Numbers 14:31 NKJV
31 But your little ones, whom you said would be victims, I will bring in, and they shall know the land which you have despised.
It is not our desire for the promise that makes it a reality it is our trust in God.
Proverbs 3:5–6 NKJV
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
