Putting On Affections of Pity, Kindness, Humility, and Objectivity of Mind
This is Who We Are in Christ

As The Elect, Colossians 3:12-13

Colossians 3:12–13
Therefore, put on, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, affection of pity, kindness, humility, objectivity of mind, longsuffering, enduring one another and being gracious towards yourselves. If perhaps anyone has complaint towards another, just as the Lord was gracious to you thus also you [be gracious].

Kindness
Humility
Objectivity of Mind

It is directed at yourself
Being kind to one another and gracious to yourselves, Ephesians 4:32
Ephesians 4:32 NASB95
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Unity in Christ, Colossians 2:18-19
Colossians 2:18–19 NASB95
Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self-abasement and the worship of the angels, taking his stand on visions he has seen, inflated without cause by his fleshly mind, and not holding fast to the head, from whom the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and ligaments, grows with a growth which is from God.
Of Maturity, Hebrews 6:1
Hebrews 6:1 NASB95
Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,

The Peace of God Umpiring In Your Hearts, Colossians 3:15

Colossians 3:15 (NASB95)
And let the peace of God umpire in your hearts unto what also you were called in one body and become thankful.
Peace of God is not having a Ruffled Mind
Christ Left His Peace, John 14:27
John 14:27 NASB95
“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.
It is not a peace from the world (The world does not know the way of peace), Romans 3:17
Romans 3:17 NASB95
And the path of peace they have not known.”
The Truth Christ Revealed to the Disciples of the New Relationship is So that We Have Peace, John 16:33
John 16:33 NASB95
“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
Peace Comes from Framing Our Minds on the Things of the Spirit, Romans 8:6
Romans 8:6 NASB95
For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,
The Kingdom of God is not about food and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy, Romans 14:17

for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Our God is not of Confusion, but Peace, 1 Corinthians 14:33
1 Corinthians 14:33 NASB95
for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.
This Peace is an Aspect of the Fruit of the Spirit, Galatians 5:22
Galatians 5:22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
It is a Peace that Surpasses the Mind, Philippians 4:7

And the peace of God, the one surpasses (ὑπερέχουσα) every mind (νοῦν), will guard your hearts and the workings of your minds (νοήματα ) in Christ Jesus.
In Contrast to Those Who Umpire Against Us, Colossians 2:18
Colossians 2:18
Let no one umpire against you, in a humiliation and worshiping of angels, bringing in things which he has not seen, being vainly puffed up by the mind of his flesh
Human Umpiring is Against Us - Focusing on the “No”
God’s Peace Umpires by giving us an unruffled mind that focuses on the “Yes”

The Word of The Christ Dwelling In You, Colossians 3:16

Colossians 3:16 (NASB95)
Let the Word of the Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, while teaching and admonishing yourselves with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs in grace singing in your heart to the Lord.
The Christ is the New Creation, 2 Corinthians 5:17
2 Corinthians 5:17
So that if someone is in Christ; a new creation, the old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new
We Are All In One Body, 1 Corinthians 12:12
1 Corinthians 12:12 (NASB95)
For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is the Christ (ὁ Χριστός).
No Divisions within the Body, 1 Corinthians 12:25
1 Corinthians 12:25 (NASB95)
so that there may be no division (σχίσμα) in the body, but that the members may have the same care for (μεριμνῶσιν) one another.
Our Position in the Body of The Christ Is Based On God’s Determination, 1 Corinthians 12:11

No Part of the Body is of Higher Value Than Any Other Part, 1 Corinthians 12:15
1 Corinthians 12:15 NASB95
If the foot says, “Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body,” it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body.
When Those in Authority in the Church are Treated Differently From Others There is No Equality in the Body
When Those Who Are Perceived As Wealthy are Treated Differently From Others There is No Equality in the Body, James 2:1-6
James 2:1–6 NASB95
My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. For if a man comes into your assembly with a gold ring and dressed in fine clothes, and there also comes in a poor man in dirty clothes, and you pay special attention to the one who is wearing the fine clothes, and say, “You sit here in a good place,” and you say to the poor man, “You stand over there, or sit down by my footstool,” have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil motives? Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? But you have dishonored the poor man. Is it not the rich who oppress you and personally drag you into court?
In Christ We Are No Longer Condemned, Romans 8:1
Romans 8:1 NASB95
Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
In Christ We are Placed as Sons, Ephesians 1:5

In Christ there is no Social, Ethical or Sexual Distinctions, 1 Corinthians 12:13
1 Corinthians 12:13 NASB95
For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
No Ethnicity Distinction, Romans 10:12
Romans 10:12 NASB95
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;
No Social or Sexual Distinctions, Galatians 3:28
Galatians 3:28 NASB95
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
This Does Not Take Away from Proper Placement Within the Body, Such as the Positions of Pastor and Deacons are only Male
This has to do with the health of the body
Eve was thoroughly deceived, not Adam, 1 Timothy 2:14
1 Timothy 2:14 NASB95
And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.

But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.
Satan seeks to deceive us as Eve was to lead us away from the simplicity that is in Christ, 2 Corinthians 11:3
2 Corinthians 11:3
But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived (ἐξηπάτησεν) Eve by his craftiness, your minds ( νοήματα) will be led astray from the simplicity (ἁπλότητος) and purity ( ἁγνότητος), the one in the Christ (εἰς τὸν Χριστόν).

Love Seeks the Best for the One Loved
Knowing what Love is, 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.

1 John 2:15 NASB95
Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Galatians 6:10 NASB95
So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

1 Timothy 3:7 NASB95
