Psalm 119:165 KJV 1900
Great peace have they which love thy law: And nothing shall offend them.
As we reflect on this one scripture this morning, I believe it is the spiritual prescription needed for the times we live in today.
Two of the most effective strategies of Satan are to plague us with WORRY and OFFENSE.
The purpose of the message from the LORD is to help us be INTENTIONAL and STRATEGIC against the spririt of WORRY and OFFENSE.
The Holy Ghost inspired the Psalmist to give believers and disciples a Key (access) to a life free from WORRY and Offense.
What is Great Peace?
Mature and Seasoned Peace
Isaiah 26:3
Isaiah 26:3 KJV 1900
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on thee: Because he trusteth in thee.
A Peace that surpasses understanding
Great means Abundant- more than enough and last through each season in life.
Peace- the Hebrew word Shalom - means complete, soundness, favorable, secure, and tranquility.
For example, the -a ship is the water but the water is not in the ship
We are in the world, but the world does not have to us
Mark 4:36-41 “And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
Jesus spoke to wind and sea - Be at Peace, Be Still
Likewise, in the Name of Jesus, we can speak to our storms, winds, and problems that flood our life.
Jesus also admonished His disciples to have faith and not fear.
2 Timothy 1:7 KJV 1900
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Who are they that love the law(Torah) (Covenant of grace)?
Love -follow, obey his instruction, Abide in Him follow a course- a love followed by action. I
f you love, keep my commandments. John 14:15
John 14:15 KJV 1900
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Deuteronomy 28:1–14 KJV 1900
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways. The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways. And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee. And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee. The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them: And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
Zacchaeus was an example of loving God and his law when he repented of the wrong he had done to others
Luke 19:8–10 KJV 1900
And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
What does it nothing shall offend them?
It does not mean we shall get hurt have offensive things done to us.
Luke 17:1 KJV 1900
Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
Mark 12:29–31 KJV 1900
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
Ephesians 4:32 KJV 1900
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
It does none of the things done to us will cause us to stumble or lose our faith.
The enemy's work will prosper against the man or woman in a deeply committed love relationship with God.
Today is the day to commit to a deep relationship, a deep love.
