Importance of Authenticity
Millennials value and promote authenticity.
We have some false perceptions that cause churches like ours to be labeled unauthentic.
Many groups form community around their sinfulness. We recognize that in ourselves but we gather “with one another consists solely in what Christ has done to both of us. “
Adjusting to be like the culture would make us, as a blood bought church, less authentic than ever.
If we do not teach our kids and teens how to examine their own hearts they will very likely to be taught to deconstruct their faith as young adults..

Deconstruction—an academic term for the systematic pulling apart of the belief system you were raised in.
This is not a new trend, however, doing it openly is a new phenomenom
“I felt I had been lied to. For instance, what I learned from a book like To Kill a Mockingbird or Black Like Me contradicted the racism I encountered in church. I went through a period of reacting against everything I was taught and even discarding my faith. I began my journey back mainly by encountering a world very different than I had been taught, an expansive world of beauty and goodness. Along the way I realized that God had been misrepresented to me. Cautiously, warily, I returned, circling around the faith to see if it might be true.”

1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.

4 Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
