To see everyone.
Tonight's gonna be the Lord's.
house, as we get ready to
Have a Bible said, if you would take about wasn't with me to Matthew 21, Matthew chapter 21.
I'm beginning reading, inverse.
Number one, Matthew 21.
Inverse number.
1. Cuz now, when they drew near Jerusalem and came to Bethpage at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples saying to them going to the Village opposite, you and immediately, you will find a donkey tied and a Colt with her loose them, and bring them to me.
And if anyone, and if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, the Lord has need of them and immediately, he will send them.
All this was done that, it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by.
The prophet saying, tell the daughter of Zion behold.
Your king is coming to you lowly and sitting on a donkey a Colt, the foal of a donkey.
So the disciples went and did as Jesus.
Commanded they brought the donkey and the cult lay their clothes on them and set him on them.
And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road and others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
Then the multitude who went before and those who followed cried out saying, Hosanna to the son of David blessed.
Is he who comes in the name of the Lord hosanna in the highest?
And when he had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved to saying, who is this?
So the multitude said, this is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee when Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out, all those who bought and sold in the temple and overturning the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold doves.
And he said to them, and is quoting here from both the prophet Isaiah and Jeremiah My house shall be called a House of Prayer, but you have made it a den of Thieves.
Let's pray to God.
Our Father.
We thank you, Lord, that we can meet together in this place.
Lord.
And as a body of Believers and Lord, we are thankful for your word.
We asked the Lord to teach his father.
The Eternal truths Lord that lay before us.
Both are pray more than anything that the true that we here tonight.
Lord would not just be things that we hold in our mind.
But things that we would hide in our heart.
That it would affect the way we live, and the way we think.
That would cause us Lord to think more spiritually.
Father, we ask the Lord to bless.
Those weren't unable to be here.
Those who are sick.
Those would love to be here.
Otherwise, we pray for the children and the teachers and the youth downstairs.
Father.
We ask you lord to bless them in a special way west all these things of Christ name.
Amen.
Well, if we're going to view.
Anything that is correct.
If we're going to have a correct view of a certain Doctrine, what is a Doctrine will a Doctrine is a belief system and if you're going to have it correct you up belief system, then it's very important that we always view things from the lens of scripture.
From the lands of scripture, are text houses that Jesus travels, from Jericho to the East and he passes through Bethpage and then Bethany.
As he nears Bethpage in the Mount of Olives, he gives he gives his disciples instructions regarding a donkey and tells them what to do, what to say when they are challenged and by what Authority he was doing this.
And what's happening right here?
Matthew 21 is that Jesus is beginning to identify himself as the Messiah as the chosen one of God.
He is the price.
And he's identifying himself as the Messiah.
And, of course, the disciples obey the Lord, and they heard the Lord, and obey the Lord.
And as a result of them doing so scriptural Prophecy from several hundred years before given by Isaiah and Zechariah was for feel.
And that Jesus made his way to Jerusalem.
It was no small gathering whatsoever.
There were thousands of people.
There was a great number of people of Israel traveling from the North and the East, and they're coming through Bethany and they're falling behind the Lord, Jesus in The Crying Hosanna to the Lord.
It would have been an awesome scene to behold.
Crowds of cheering as Jesus.
Passes by as everyone is making their way to Jerusalem as this is a start of Passover.
When Jesus finally makes his way to Jerusalem, he makes his way to the temple.
He saw the money changers there.
And those who are selling animals to be used as a sacrificial offerings, for those who had traveled to Jerusalem for the Passover.
They were selling the sacrificial animals at exuberant prices.
And they were changing money in order to profit off of the needs of the people.
And so these who were selling the sacrificial Lambs.
They raise the prices, a great deal knowing that the pilgrims passing through to celebrate, Passover needed a lamb.
They raise their prices.
Well, Jesus holds the as he sees this and Jesus doesn't just sit by and allow this to take place seed us, something very radical.
As a matter of fact, Jesus had a very radical Ministry.
Do you know why he had such a radical Ministry?
Because he had a very biblical Ministry.
That's why.
He had a very biblical Ministry because Jesus ministry.
Everything he did was a direct fulfillment of what the Old Testament prophecies declared hundreds of years.
Prior.
The prophets declared where the Messiah would be born.
Bethlehem.
Jesus was born in Bethlehem.
The prophets declared what the Messiah would do when he was to come and start his Earthly Ministry.
It says in the Old Testament that the blind would receive their sight, the lame would walk, and that is exactly what Jesus is doing.
But unfortunately.
Israel as a whole expecially the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Did not see it or they willingly turned a blind eye to it.
And one of the reasons why his ministry was really so radical to the Pharisees, is that it went against the teachings.
It went against the traditions of the religious leaders of the day.
It went against the socially accepted Norms of the day these norms and these Traditions that they had held onto as Pharisees were non-biblical traditions.
Their teachings and traditions in their mind was greater than scripture itself.
This is why the Pharisees to the law.
The law was not enough for them.
And so they added laws upon laws.
And so Jesus, seeing what he is sitting there in the temple.
This is why Jesus turns over the tables and runs a Merchants out of the temple area.
Because their traditions.
And their mom was greater than scripture.
The temple was no longer a place of personal relationship with God Almighty as it should have been.
It was supposed to be a place to worship him.
A place to pray for others and self and to hear from God.
Instead, they have made it into a mini mall, or some kind of a Marketplace to meet the monetary wants of the selfish and greedy.
Don't want us tonight to briefly.
Look at this text scripture.
Because I believe again, if we interpret a scripture the wrong way, then we are very apt to lose the correct, understanding of a certain Doctrine, in this case prayer.
