The Visions

1st there was a call for holiness
then 8 visions concerning the events leading up to the Millennial Kingdom
Jesus will crush the world empires
The satanic religious system will be destroyed
the sinner will be separated from the saint
the ungodly nations will be destroyed
now the visions are over
we saw that the beginning of each vision we read and he looked up and saw… etc.
But God has given him a prophetic drama to do
Read Zechariah 6 9-15
Pray

The Drama

Zechariah 6:9 LEB
And the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
now it’s the spoken word of God
Zechariah 6:10 LEB
“Collect from the exiles—from Heldai, Tobijah, and from Jedaiah, all of whom came from Babylon—and go on that day, go to the house of Josiah son of Zephaniah.
these men came to Jerusalem to bring an offering
they are staying at the local home of Josiah
Zechariah 6:11 LEB
Take the silver and gold and make a crown, and set it on the head of Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest.
Zechariah 6:11 AV
Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;
Zechariah 6:11 CJB
Take silver and gold; make crowns; put one on the head of Y’hoshua the son of Y’hotzadak, the cohen hagadol;
the crown is a composite of gold and silver
it may even be 2 crowns in one
but as one crown it is put on the head
of the High priest
something that is not done
The priest comes under Aaron who comes from the tribe of Levi
the Kings comes under David from the tribe of Judah
so this is something new
What is God Prophesying?

Gods Explanation

Zechariah 6:12 LEB
And say to him, ‘Thus says Yahweh of hosts: “Look, here is a man whose name is Branch, and from his place he will sprout, and he will build the temple of Yahweh.
Zechariah 6:12 AV
And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD:
in the New Testament at the time of Jesus arrest, the Sanhedrin should have known from Zechariah's prophecy
Jesus wearing the crown of thorns
John 19:5 LEB
Then Jesus came outside wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, and he said to them, “Behold the man!”
John 19:14 LEB
(Now it was the day of preparation of the Passover; it was about the sixth hour.) And he said to the Jews, “Behold your king!”
Pilate was more clear sited than the spiritual leaders of Israel
Zechariah 6:12 (LEB)
And say to him, ‘Thus says Yahweh of hosts: “Look, here is a man whose name is Branch, and from his place he will sprout, and he will build the temple of Yahweh.
I have said in the past that this branch is Jesus but I have not proved it
why is Jesus the Branch?
here at the time of Zechariah, Zerubbabel is governor, not king
the last king of Israel was king Jehoiachin who died in captivity
so it seems that the kingly line of David is ended/dead/cut off
so think of it as a stump
a sprout from a stump
Isaiah 11:1 LEB
And a shoot will come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from its roots will bear fruit.
Jeremiah 33:15 LEB
In those days and in that time I will make a branch of righteousness sprout for David, and he will execute justice and righteousness in the land.
Isaiah 53:1–2 LEB
Who has believed our message, and to whom has the arm of Yahweh been revealed? For he went up like a shoot before him, and like a root from dry ground. He had no form and no majesty that we should see him, and no appearance that we should take pleasure in him.
Jesus was unassuming, just a little shoot, he was not a big majestic tree.
Zechariah 6:12 (LEB)
And say to him, ‘Thus says Yahweh of hosts: “Look, here is a man whose name is Branch, and from his place he will sprout, and he will build the temple of Yahweh.
a Israelite from Israel.
among his own people
Zechariah 6:12 (LEB)
And say to him, ‘Thus says Yahweh of hosts: “Look, here is a man whose name is Branch, and from his place he will sprout, and he will build the temple of Yahweh.
This is the Millennial Kingdom temple
Ezekiel 37:27–28 LEB
And my tabernacle will be with them, and I will be for them as God, and they will be to me as a nation. And the nations will know that I, Yahweh, am consecrating Israel when my sanctuary is in the midst of them forever.” ’ ”
Ezekiel 43:5 LEB
And the Spirit lifted me and it brought me to the inner courtyard and, look! The glory of Yahweh filled the temple!
Jesus will build His temple. his sanctuary in Jerusalem
there He will abide with His people forever
Again in the next verse God says
Zechariah 6:13 LEB
And he will build the temple of Yahweh, and he will bear majesty and will sit and rule on his throne. And he shall be a priest on his throne, and the counsel of peace will be between the two of them.” ’
Jesus as the King and Priest will rule with majesty
as priest He will be the Great shepherd, God with us
As king He will rule with justice and peace

The Memorial

Zechariah 6:14 LEB
And the crown will be for Helem, for Tobijah, for Jedaiah, and for Hen son of Zephaniah, as a memorial in the temple of Yahweh.
History tells us that there was a high window in the new temple which this crown hung
and this crown hung in these men’s honor
also hung as a reminder of the promised Messiah
who will reign and be the priest of Israel
Who is going to come in the order of Melchizedek
the king of Righteousness
the Priest of the most High
there will be no more separation of Church and state
Zechariah 6:15 LEB
And those who are far off will come and build the temple of Yahweh, and you will know that Yahweh of hosts has sent me to you. And it will happen if you will listen diligently to the voice of Yahweh your God.”
again there is a call for Holiness
and that goes not only for the people of Zechariahs time
but it also goes for us in this time
as we wait for the coming of our Savior, Jesus the Bridegroom
you see in this verse listen diligently
I know that I am taking these words out of context
but I want to close with listen diligently listening for that trumpet call
listening for the call of Jesus to us
be diligent in our preparation of being in the presence of God
be looking for Him at any and all moments
