12 For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.
13 For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.
14 For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law.
15 They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them
16 on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus.
17 But if you call yourself a Jew and rely on the law and boast in God
18 and know his will and approve what is excellent, because you are instructed from the law;
19 and if you are sure that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness,
20 an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of children, having in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth—
21 you then who teach others, do you not teach yourself? While you preach against stealing, do you steal?
22 You who say that one must not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?
23 You who boast in the law dishonor God by breaking the law.
24 For, as it is written, “The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”
25 For circumcision indeed is of value if you obey the law, but if you break the law, your circumcision becomes uncircumcision.
26 So, if a man who is uncircumcised keeps the precepts of the law, will not his uncircumcision be regarded as circumcision?
27 Then he who is physically uncircumcised but keeps the law will condemn you who have the written code and circumcision but break the law.
28 For no one is a Jew who is merely one outwardly, nor is circumcision outward and physical.
29 But a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God.

The Judgment of God (Wrath of God is revealed) is central… Several weeks ago, we asked: Is God JUST to JUDGE? This is Also a POWER CLAIM - God has the Power to Know the Mind and Actions of all mankind....
The Gentiles are judged for suppressing the Truth in 1:18-32
NOW we see that SIN apart from the law ends in DEATH (perish); and SIN in the law ends in JUDGMENT BY THE LAW (the soul that sins shall die)
So you might say, Hey, If I don’t hear or know God’s law, He cannot judge me by it… Technically correct, but you are still RUINED/PERISH
Look at our Text again: vv. 12-13 - Now the Jews are Judged because they rely on the law… (Hearers are not justified, but DOERS) - This is the same now, You may hear, but if you do not BELIEVE you will not be justified.
vv. 14-15 This is NARROW - Even the Gentiles who do not have the law can “by nature” (built-in, observable) do what the Law Requires and so are a Law… It is WRITTEN ON THEIR HEARTS

Paul Now begins to mount his case, that Works of the Law cannot justify, because we cannot keep the law perfectly.
Paul then introduces a work of the Spirit where-in the HEART is circumcised
- Notice these who are different seek praise from GOD not from man - Their focus is upward, not inward, They are justified by God, not justified by the Opinion of others (Modern Social Media)
- this is probably a reference to the stony heart being replaced with a softened heart in Ezekiel 11:19
19 And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh,
24 I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land.
25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.
26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
Challenge: some phrases to help us remember
JUDGE JESUS - If you think Judge Judy is tough… Do you KNOW for Certain that ALL are Judged by Jesus Christ?
IDENTITY CRISIS - More than just a cultural problem right now - Do you KNOW for Certain that a IDENTIFICATION with a Group Does NOT GRANT ETERNAL LIFE? (Jew, Christian family, Church attender/member…)
GLORY HOUND - This is not about FIDO or FOOTBALL - Do you KNOW for Certain that Seeking the Praise of Others but ignoring God - That is Failing to Believe in Christ - ends in destruction?
HARD HEARTS - HARD HEADS - This is not about being a bit dense… Have you allowed GOD’S SPIRIT to replace your hardened, self-centered and stony heart with one that Loves God and Seeks to Show HIS LOVE toward others?
