We have discuess what fearing God looks like practically from the NT perspective the last couple of weeks.
2 weeks ago… to pathways in life.. the way of the foolish the way of the wise,
the wise should seek to live thier lives not for thier selfish desires but for the glory of God
Last week we looked at a the notion that Solomon wrote how to be wise it to exercise prudence… working towards the future…
In the NT perspective, to be prudent is to seek God’s will and not our own..... to labor for the things of eternal value.
I spoke of the need for us to seek this out in our lives begining with prayer… asking God to supra-naturally transforms our needs and desires to be more in alignment with His.
The NT also paints a very vivid picture of someone who is seeking to live for God’s glory is someone who desires to walk increasing righteousness.
14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance.
15 But as the one who called you is holy, you also are to be holy in all your conduct; 16 for it is written, Be holy, because I am holy.
1 Peter
jesus, if you love me, keep my commandments
paul, put on, put off
Again, we are not left to our own to produce this ..Holy Spirit…
But walking in the Spirit begins with communion with God in Prayer and a constant reminder that we are to look at our lives throught the lens of the Gospel
Somone elses glasses perscription
welders helmet
windshield and the defroster is not working or the winshield wiper desintigrates
the lens in which we look at life through is important.
