SO YOU SAY—
Mickey why the stories?
Well, we have
read many books,
listened to lots stories
watched many movies, and
scrolled through countless hours of Facebook posts to the point that—
I fear that I could read the Bible and not actually believe it—may it never be.
What about you?
Does reading the Bible sometimes seem like a...
fairytale Story
if we rub Bible long enough or confess it will God give us three wishes and become our Geni?
or by begging God enough will the Bible give us magical beans that will led to the greatest beanstalk of all times and all of our problems will go away?
Or read the Bible like a
Movie
it must have a happy ending
Or a like a post
it has to be true if its on Facebook?
NO, THE BIBLE IS GOD’S WORD!
IT IS TRUTH
IT IS LIFE
IT IS A TWO-EDGED SWORD not to defend our precious view, but to do havoc on the enemy of our soul.
Hebrews 4:12 NLT
12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
We must SEE that we live in a physical world while all the time our citizenship belongs to a spiritual world! Unseen from earth. It’s foundations are in Heaven.
Philippians 3:20 NLT
But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.
“You are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in this body.” Dr. Albert Grimes
We want to live for the Now!
But God wants us to live for Heaven!
In this Large World we must move past our small thinking
We need God size dreams and ambitions.
Listen to these Words:
The suffering of today cannot be compared with the glory of what is to come.
It is a comfort and a promise given to us by the Lord.
He doesn’t drive us with a spirit of fear, No! He guides us with a spirit of love, strength, and sensibility—control over one’s emotions.
Because of the Holy Spirit—we need NOT fear, even though the mountains fall into the sea, whether there are wars and rumors of wars, and neighbor turn against neighbor.
We must be filled with God's Spirit, who shows you that—God doesn't have problems, only plans.
There is never any panic in heaven.
God is faithful; His plans do not fail.
Amen!
Unlike the stories, movies, and social media posts that have no rhyme or reason—I have read the end of the Book, the Bible, and Jesus is Victorious. He is our Victorious God!
John the Revelator paints a picture of that “Glory” that is waiting to be revealed to us.
Let’s Go Back and capture a little more of these scriptures that I have eluded just a moment ago.
Romans 8:18 TPT
I am convinced that any suffering we endure is less than nothing compared to the magnitude of glory that is about to be unveiled within us.
1 Peter 1:6 NLT
So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.
1 John 3:2 TPT
Beloved, we are God’s children right now; however, it is not yet apparent what we will become. But we do know that when it is finally made visible, we will be just like him, for we will see him as he truly is.
Even creation is waiting!
Romans 8:19 NLT
For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are.
Romans 8:21 NLT
the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.
The HOPE WE HAVE is not a Fairy-tale of a Fairyland to come.
Our HOPE is in Christ and the Spirit of God is leading us
Romans 8:24–26 NLT
We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it. But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.) And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
We do not need to fear the future, that which will come—the “Holy Spirit will help us in our weakness.”
Hear it with your own ears...
2 Timothy 1:7 TPT
For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control.
That is our Father
always providing
always protecting!
Psalm 46:1–3 (NLT)
God is our refuge and strength,
always ready to help in times of trouble.
So we will not fear when earthquakes come
and the mountains crumble into the sea.
Let the oceans roar and foam.
Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!
Interlude [Think about that]
Have you read the end of the Book—John’s illumination found in Revelations reveals Jesus ending strong!!
He speaks of a HOPE for ALL the ages!!
In Revelations 22, in Red Letters--
Vs 7. “Behold, I am Coming Soon...”
Vs 12. “Behold, I am Coming Soon...”
Vs 20. “Surely, I am Coming Soon...”
what is Jesus planning to do?
”Come soon.“
Here are 7 Living Points for Hope Today.
What we read and watch shapes our view of God and the Hope we have in Christ.
God’s Word is Truth and Life. It is a Sharp Two-Edged Sword.
You are a spirit, that has a soul, and lives in a body.
We must be filled with God's Spirit, who shows you that God doesn't have problems, only plans.
Our present sufferings (grief, pain, feelings of rejection, shame, and abandonment) are not worth comparing to the magnificent glory to come.
We need God size thinking in this Large World, not Small-minded Thinking.
“Behold, I am Coming Soon!” -Jesus our Soon Coming King
God Began this...
Ephesians 2:8 The Message
Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish!
Have you read the end of the Book—Well, now is the time to consider if God’s Word is truly what you believe or is it just a warm story we heard as children?
Let’s Pray...
