What If I Can’t Do This Whole “Share The Gospel” Thing?
Jeremiah 1:4–5 ESV
Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:6 ESV
Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.”
You are not the first person that doubted you could do what God wanted from you.
Exodus 3:10 ESV
Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”
Exodus 4:10 ESV
But Moses said to the Lord, “Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.”
Exodus 4:11 ESV
Then the Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?
God knows better than you what you are capable of doing.
Exodus 4:12 ESV
Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.”
Even if you find yourself unable, God is more than able.
Jeremiah 1:5 ESV
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
God anticipated an objection and gave Jeremiah the same answer He had given Moses.
Jeremiah 1:6 ESV
Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.”
Jeremiah 1:7 ESV
But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.
Don’t make excuses. God is unimpressed.
Jeremiah 1:8 ESV
Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord.”
Don’t be afraid of the challenge. God will overcome.
