Mickey Talks: Prayer

21 Days of P + F:
Did anyone have a surprising greatday this week?

Sunday: put on kindness, choose to forgive, and not grieve the Holy Spirit

Monday: Temptation—ask for discernment, don’t let peer pressure get you down.
Tuesday: thank God for the gift of community and family.
Wednesday: Magnify God, spend time in worship, write some thoughts about God’s attributes that could be sung.
Thursday: Putting on the Armor of God. How can you protect against the enemy from feeling overwhelmed?

Friday: day 12 The loaves and the fishes, ask for compassion for hurting and ask for the wisdom needed to help allocate resources to help others.
Saturday: Pray for the whole world asking God to give you eyes to see what he sees — local, nationally, and globally

MANY TIMES I FEEL WE LIVE LIVES THAT REALLY ARE NOT VERY FULFILLING FOR THE AMOUNT OF ENERGY WE PUT INTO THEM...

Oswald Chambers

Prayer:
“How helpless I am in bringing forth fruit, Thy kind of fruit in the world, so ungenerous and unlike Thee am I. Forgive me, and by abiding in Jesus may I bear much fruit and so glorify the Father.”

Proverbs 16:9 NKJV
9 A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.

2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT
9 Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

Amy Carmichael

Prayer:
“Holy Spirit, think through me till Your ideas are my ideas.”

Proverbs 3:5–6 NLT
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Psalm 52:8 NLT
8 But I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God. I will always trust in God’s unfailing love.

3 Points
YOU HAVE PRAYERS THAT NEED TO BE PRAYED.
YOU HAVE PRAYERS THAT COULD CHANGE THE COURSE OF ANOTHER’S LIFE.
YOU HAVE PRAYERS THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT WANTS TO LEAD YOU THROUGH.

Romans 8:26–31 (NLT)
26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.
28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
30 And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.
31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?

Jude 20–21 (NLT)
20 But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit,
21 and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.

1 Corinthians 14:15 NLT
15 Well then, what shall I do? I will pray in the spirit, and I will also pray in words I understand. I will sing in the spirit, and I will also sing in words I understand.
