Grace and the Christian Experience

What is Grace (definition)

Old Testament. A common way of describing human graciousness toward another person is “to find favor in [their] eyes.”
In the New Testament it is unmerited favor or reward, from God. Salvation
חֶסֶד, chesed; “grace, mercy, steadfast love, compassion”; חֵן, chen; “grace, graciousness, kindness”; χάρις, charis; “grace, favor, graciousness, goodwill John 1:17

The law indeed was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Why Do We Require Grace ?
Because of one man’s sin.
Gen 3:15-4:26
We gain this curse,
Romans 5: 12-21 Paul adresses this fact.
But he states in same passage
Romans 5:21 that we are no longer bound to the old but are saved through Christ Jesus.

J. Gresham Machen noted, “The very center and core of the whole Bible is the doctrine of the grace of God.”
