The Gospel
The good news that God has already acted on our behalf.
Read
Chosen and Called
We are all called to serve
We are all gifted to serve
Paul’s Calling was special.
His focus as an apostle was to take the message of the Gospel to the Gentiles.
He wasn’t the only one, but he was a primary influencer in the growth and expansion of the Church amongst the Gentiles.
Who are the Elect (the chosen)
Abraham
Jacob instead of Esau
David over Saul
Mary and Joseph
The twelve
The apostle Paul himself
Those who taught us
You and Me
Those we will teach
Purpose of Paul’s calling
For the Faith of God’s Elect.
Paul’s ministry was one of Gospel proclamation and disciple-making.
From the first responses of saving faith to growth in walking by faith, Paul’s ministry helped grow the fledgling church.
For the Elects knowledge of the truth.
There is no falsehood in God.
Jesus said that He is the Truth
This truth that Paul proclaims is bound in who God is.
Jesus said this,
The knowledge of the truth, which Paul now proclaims, is this truth . . .
that Christ can set you free from the bondage of sin.
For the godliness of the Elect
Godliness is the outworking of our faith.
It is where faith meets action.
Living in Eternal Life
Our hope is secure in who God is.
The hope of eternal life is an assurance not a fleeting hope that runs like sand through our fingers.
Promised before time began
Fulfilled at the perfect time
Proclaimed by His chosen people
Carrying the Message
As Paul witnessed to and discipled Titus, so we are called to make disciples.
What are we called to do?
To spread the faith
To proclaim the truth
To live godly lives
To hope in eternity
To pass on these things
When do we stop doing this?
