In the OT, prayer was commanded as a labor of the heart (Dt. 11:13). In this desire of God, we are called to serve with all of our heart. Prayer was taught as a gifted process of self-reflection meant to transform humans engaged in it. In the Bible prayer isn’t a means to an end, it’s the point. A two-way connection. Jesus learned how to pray, taught how to his followers, and embodied its impact as an example for everyone in the kingdom of God.
