Why If? Why Not?

Acts 4:31-33; Luke 1:37

Introduction

1. What if this is the Year of New Beginnings?

a. Two great beginnings for the early church

1. Acts 2:1-4.

2. Acts 4.

b. New beginnings for you

1. The year you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior (Romans 10:13; 2 Corinthians 5:17)

2. The year you confess your sins and rededicate your life (I John 1:9)

3. The year you return to your first love (Revelation 2:4-5)

c. The year you stop looking back and looking up to Jesus (Hebrews 12:2)

2. What if this is the year your prayers are answered? (v. 31)

a. The year your children get right with God

b. The year your spouse comes to Christ

c. The year you conquer your negative attitude, bad habit, besetting sin

d. The year you get out of debt

e. The year God touches you and restores your health, marriage, relationships

3. What if this is the year of Revival in our Church? (vv. 31-32)

a. “Revival” is a misunderstood word

b. Revival would make this a year of forgiveness

c. Revival would make this a year of sharing (v. 32)

d. Revival would make this a year of reconciliation

e. Revival would make this the year when all barriers fall

4. What if this is the year of Evangelism? (v. 33)

a. How long has it been since you made an effort to win a soul?

b. The year of personal witnessing and soul winning
