Here we are walking into a New Year of Grace, new mercy of 2022, and a new blessing. Now most of us will start Fasts that we may or may not keep. Start fad diets that we may or may not keep. Make promises to God that we may or may not keep. We will in many cases simply lie, because we don’t truly intend on doing what we are saying. Now before you get real mad at me let me tell you why. In order for you to change anything you have to change everything. Do I need to say that again? In order for you to change anything you have to change everything. If you are going to change your spiritual life, you have to change your spiritual diet. In other words what you consume is what determines your spirituality. Say bye bye to the raunchy shows, Netflix series, HBO series, housewives of whoever series, and other things because you can grow spiritually eating spiritual junk food. You have to eat God’s word, listen to God’s voice, and attend God’s church including bible study and Sunday school. This applies mentally as well. You need quiet time to meditate instead of always chasing the next event or the next conference or the next whatever. You need a mental break and we all need to feed ourselves mentally as well with mentorship and counseling. Read a book or simply read the BOOK the Bible. The same thing applies physically in that what you eat often times determines your health. Some of us don’t need a divine healing we simply need to eat healthy. Yeah yeah yeah I know I know well pastor this and well pastor that but at the end of the day you are what you eat! Now let me really get on your nerves. Some of us don’t need a blessing what we need is discipline financially. See we ask God for financial blessings, but we don’t obey God when he does blesses us. We tip instead of tithe, we don’t give unless it’s good for us, and we don’t put God first, but we want the best and first blessing. Let me help you it’s not going to happen. You can cry, spit, speak in tongue, but until you do what God said in His word it’s not going to change. God doesn’t just save your soul he saves your pocket book too. So many folks spend more time lying trying to impress people and they are broke because of it. You can’t be Facebook famous or Instagram infamous, and be blessed. Stay in your lane and be who God is calling you to be and let the rest of it work itself out. Matthew 6:33 says “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these other things will be added unto you” He didn’t say pray for the stuff and chase the stuff and the kingdom will be added, He said seek Him first! Now that I am done with that let me preach a little!!! I will go ahead and say I am not worried about the time this morning. I gotta say what God told me to said and if you got somewhere to be then go ahead and leave, but don’t sat there looking at your watch and blowing wind in your jaws, because this morning I’m like the blues singer “I ain’t stuttin ya”!!!

In Genesis 12:7 God told Abraham that he would give his descendants the land of Canaan, and Abraham built an altar there. This is significant because an altar at that time was not a place in which you placed sins and issues like now, but it was a place in which you worshipped. Abram at the time worshipped God there, because he met with God there. Maybe that’s a theme we need to grasp and that is to worship God when especially when we hear God. This promise moved from generation to generation, and after a 400 year incubation period in Egypt God brought his people out with a strong and mighty hand. He grew them to the place they could handle the land in which he promised Abraham. Church it is important that you know who you are listening to. Listening to your flesh or listening to God. God’s word does not change for you and it won’t change for me. Now God gave Moses the vision and called Moses to be the Leader, but sometimes church your flesh will start talking to you and make you think it’s God. In Chapter 13 God tells Moses to get Elders from every tribe. Notice these were not just anyone, but these were leaders from each tribe. So Moses sent them out to spy out the land that was already promised to them. Moses gave specific instructions on how to go, where to go, and what to look for. Somebody say instructions! You have to always follow instructions church, because there is purpose in instructions. Ask any parent in here who tried to put that toy together or that device together without the instructions and it ended in disaster, missing pieces, and a mess. So the first thing I want to tell you all is follow the instructions! He said tell me about the people where they live and how they move, tell me about the cities are there walls or are they fortified, tell me about the crops and even bring some fruit back. One of the last things Moses said was be of Good Courage!
They did just that in Chapter 13. They spied out the land and brought back fruit and reports. The only problem is they didn’t follow all of the instructions. They forgot to be of good courage. When they came back they gave all of the information that was requested. They had scouted out the land for 40 days, and culminated information regarding the land of Canaan. The problem was they got out of order! Instead of just giving the report they started messing with the vision. Church you need to always know that the vision is always bigger than what you can see. Our physical vision is limited we can only see so far, but God’s vision can see into eternity! When they saw what God was giving them instead of getting excited the majority of them became afraid and full of fear. They started speaking against the vision and the leadership, because of what they saw. Don’t let your flesh stop you from getting what God has promised you church! Watch this church. Everything that Moses told them was true. It was a land flowing with milk and honey. There was money in the land. There was crops in the land. There was houses and buildings in the land just like Moses said as God had told him, but one thing they weren’t ready for spiritually and mentally was who occupied the land. When they saw tall walls, fortified cities, and giants they lost God’s vision and started using there fleshly vision. When you start looking with your flesh and not your spirit you have already lost! So they spoke fear, spoke against the leader, and unknowingly spoke against God!

There’s a few things and I will bid you bye bye! The first thing is this just because you are in the majority does not make you right! There were 12 spies there were 12 reports, and 10 were negative and 2 were positive. Watch this church. 10 reports were of the flesh and two reports were of the spirit! Let me go a little further. Two reports reflected what the Leader in Moses had spoken and 10 reports reflected in what the leaders of the tribe had spoken. I know this will upset some of y’all, but God does not speak against himself. In other words God will not give the Leader in whom he sent a vision and give you the people another vision. In chapter 12 Aaron and Miriam said does God only talk to Moses? God talks to us to and they questioned Moses legitimacy as a leader because he married an Ethiopian woman, but God called a meeting and struck Miriam with Leprosy. Be careful church how you handle God’s people., because some things God will only speak to the Leader.
The next thing is you can be together and not be in Unity! They all were God’s children. They all were brought out of Egypt. They all crossed the Red Sea. They all ate manna in the wilderness. They all drank water from a rock sprung up by God through Moses. They all were made the same promise, but they were not on the same accord. Some followed their flesh and not their Leader! Some of them listened to their lower leaders instead of listening to God
Lastly and I am closing be the exception! 30 Except for Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun, you shall by no means enter the land which I [g]swore I would make you dwell in. 31 But your little ones, whom you said would be victims, I will bring in, and they shall [h]know the land which you have despised. Everyone is not going to make it, but you. Everyone else talking negative but you. Everyone doubting but you. Everyone afraid but you. Everyone wanting to go back to Egypt but you. Everyone wants to quit school but you. Everyone wants to quit the team but you. Everyone wants to smoke dope but you. Everyone wants to stay broke but you. Everyone wants to keep doing what they been doing but you. Everyone failed but you. Everyone died but you. Everyone ran out but you. Everyone left but you. Be the exception to every rule that man and flesh makes up. Look at your neighbor and tell them to be the exception in 2022. How can I be the exception I am so glad you asked Obey God, Obey God’s word, and follow God’s leader and watch God make you the exception!
