Psalm 63

He is God

Whatever has first place in your heart is what you’ve made to be your God.

David seeing a desolate land calls up his longing for God.

In the wilderness, David still knows of God’s power and glory.

As God is the true powerful, glorious, and loving God, there is nothing better for us to seek.

He Satisfies

vs5 gives certainty that as we seek God, we will be satisfied.

We are satisfied in seeking God because we get Him.

(John 7:37-39)

To live out the satisfaction God gives, we must be sure we always remember (vs6).

To live out that satisfaction, we must continue to cling to Him (vs8).

Secure Praise

vs3, 4, 5, 7, and 10 all elude to praising God.

This is living out our purpose and increases our satisfaction in Him.

vs9-11 show us that no matter what anyone else does, we will be left standing, praising God.

It is fulfilling to know that what matters most to us can never be taken away.
