Step 1: Welcome (Mickey)

I hope you all took the time to fill your loved ones name on the card as we will share this name later in the service when we Lite our Candle of Hope. Does anyone need a card?
We are all here—
We All Grieve, All in the same place, All need Support, All need a friend that sticks closer than a brother. We all need help from one another and from our big brother Jesus through the power of the Spirit of God.
Today, may be--closure for many of you.
Due to COVID maybe there was no service for your loved one, or
maybe you could not attend funeral or graveside service, or
maybe your are now ready to take a new step--to mourn with the help of Father God and others that love you dearly.
THANK YOU FOR COMING TODAY!
HERE IS A DEFINITION OF GRIEF:
Emotional suffering brought on by bereavement, mishap, or disaster.
To grieve is either to cause or feel sorrow or distress. Elwell, W. A., & Beitzel, B. J. (1988). Grief. In Baker encyclopedia of the Bible (Vol. 1, p. 904). Grand Rapids, MI: Baker Book House.
More simply put by Zig Zigler,
"Grief is the price you pay
for loving someone."
SCRIPTURES FROM GOD’S WORD REVEAL THIS NEED THAT WE ALL GRIEVE— even Father God grieves... Tyndale House Publishers. (2015). Holy Bible: New Living Translation. Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale House Publishers. Judges 10:16 (NLT) 16 Then the Israelites put aside their foreign gods and served the LORD. And he was grieved by their misery. Lamentations -- is a whole book of Laments. Yes, we ALL grieve.
2 Chronicles 35:25 (NLT) 25 The prophet Jeremiah composed funeral songs for Josiah, and to this day choirs still sing these sad songs about his death. These songs of sorrow have become a tradition and are recorded in The Book of Laments. Grief is part of our lives -- we can't wish it away. Think about Jesus. John 11:33 (NLT) 33 When Jesus saw her weeping and saw the other people wailing with her, a deep anger welled up within him, and he was deeply troubled. This was about the death of his good friend. Jesus, the Holy One of Israel -- troubled? It goes on and says...
John 11:35 (NLT)
35 Then Jesus wept. He mourned because he saw that his friends couldn’t see the Hope for Life Eternal. That death is not final!
