John and Jesus's.
I am statements this morning.
We're going to take a look at what God says about the greatest child ever born.
What child's life?
Destiny impact can be specifically and accurately described before the child has ever been conceived.
Humanly speaking none.
What child ever had all the details of his nature and his character, and his life, his accomplishments, and his effect, clearly laid out before he was born.
Humanly speaking none.
But on occasion God chooses to reveal the history of life before it has ever lived ever born or ever conceived, that's precisely what we find in the first chapter of Luke.
That's the gospel story unfolds.
It opens with the intervention of Heaven on a grand scale.
Even if the scenario was simple, it is clearly Supernatural for the first time in eight hundred years, a series of Miracles began to happen.
For the first time in 500 years, a miracle actually occurs for the first time in over four hundred years Angels appear.
For the first time in 400 years, God speaks.
That's the New Testament begins.
There is a flurry of Supernatural activity.
And one of the most remarkable demonstrations of the supernatural Invasion.
Launch is the New Testament is the god makes prophecies about people who are not yet born, not yet, even conceived.
God tells us things that only God could know.
First of all, the angel Gabriel came to a man named Zacharias and told him that he was going to have a son.
And he, and his wife, Elizabeth who were well past childbearing age.
She had been Barren and unable to have children her entire life, but they were going to have a child and he, they would name him John.
Verses 15 through 17, describe the child, who was not yet conceived for, he will be great in the sight of the Lord and He will drink no wine or liquor and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit while still in his mother's womb and he will turn many of the sons of Israel back to the Lord, their God and it is he who will go as a forerunner before him in the spirit and power of Elijah to turn the hearts of fathers back to their children and the disobedient to the attitude of righteousness, Make Ready a people prepared for the Lord.
A supernatural description of a life.
Not yet lived.
Not yet.
Born not even conceived.
Miraculously Zechariah and Elizabeth would conceive a child.
Who would fulfill all of these prophecies.
It was true.
Just was the angel said she did conceive and her husband Zacharias.
They had a child in her womb.
The sixth month of her pregnancy.
She's the angel Gabriel returns with another prophecy of an incredible person to be born verses 26 through 28.
Now in the six-month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee named Nazareth to a virgin betrothed.
To a man whose name was Joseph of the descendants of David and the virgin's name was Mary and coming in.
He said to her, greetings favored.
One.
The Lord is with you, then verses 31 through 33 and behold, you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son and you shall name him Jesus.
He will be great.
And he will be called the son of the most high, and the Lord, God will give him the Throne of his father David.
And he will reign over the house of Jacob forever.
And his kingdom will have no end.
Here again, remarkable Revelation from God about a child to be born.
This is the most amazing and shocking words that have ever been spoken to any woman virgin will have a child.
It says, Luke 223 the Joseph and Mary were amazed at these things, which were being said about this child to ordinary Jewish people.
This child is described in verse 32.
He will be great and he will be called the son of the most high and the Lord.
God will give him the Throne of his father David.
When it says, he will be great.
What does it mean?
Well, it could be Noble, magnificent distinguished.
But in his case glorious, the greatest child ever born.
Now.
It said, verse 15.
The John, the Baptist would be great.
In the sight of the Lord.
That is God, would impute to him a certain greatness.
But here it says, Jesus will be great.
It is something God does for him.
It is something essential to his nature.
The greatness of Jesus unfolded, as he lived his life.
His teaching was unlike any peat team.
Did it ever been heard by anybody?
No, man ever taught with the authority in which he teaches?
No, man ever had the Divine knowledge.
The truth from God to the degree and the extent that this man did.
Is miracles attested to his glorious greatness?
He did Miracle after Miracle.
After Miracle miracles of raising the dead, providing food for multitude walking on water healings, and not only that, he had total authority over the kingdom of Darkness, cast out demons at will, and whenever he decided to do.
So, the greatest of all the Miracles that attests to his greatness was that he was raised from the dead.
He with his own power shattered, the bonds of death, and the grave and came out alive.
This is the greatest child ever born.
There's a humble couple waiting for their marriage.
Here comes the angel, Gabriel in the Divine Invasion.
The likes of which no one could ever imagine to announce to this young girl, that she's going to have this incredible child in the humblest of circumstances in the most nondescript of pounds in a place called Galilee, which was far away from the centers of learning and religion.
To this obscure.
Woman comes this amazing angel with the word from God. Invading normal, human history in a Monumental way as the great truths of the New Testament begin to unfold.
This morning.
I want to ask one simple question.
What is it?
That defines his greatness?
First of all, he is God verse 32, he will be great and will be called the son of the most high over in verse 35.
It says, at the end of the verse, the child will be called The Son of God, Luke refers to God as the most high because that was a very familiar Jewish title given to God.
He was the Supreme one, the most high stressing his Majestic sovereignty.
This is a title that was first used in Genesis 14-8.
He is called God.
Most high who is above all.
And from that first usage.
It sweeps through the Old Testament, and is used repeatedly to define God as the Supreme Being.
No one is higher than God Deuteronomy.
32 8 says, when the most high gave, the nation's, their inheritance, Psalms 47 to for the Lord.
Most high is to be feared, a great king, over all the Earth, 2nd Samuel 22 14.
The Lord thundered From Heaven and the most high God heard his voice.
And it also speaks of clouds and water and skies and Lightnings and thunder indicating that the most high not only rules over men, but he rules over nature.
So it has a title of sovereign Majesty, over everything, all people, all creation.
All that is good.
All that is evil.
All that exists.
He is Sovereign over at all.
