Christmas Unwrapped

Matthew 2:11
Matthew 2:11 NKJV
11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Gold

Every person should honor Jesus as the King because of the following traits of His reign:

1. King of Peace

Matthew 21:5 NKJV
5 “Tell the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your King is coming to you, Lowly, and sitting on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.’ ”
Fulfillment of
Isaiah 62:11 NKJV
11 Indeed the Lord has proclaimed To the end of the world: “Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Surely your salvation is coming; Behold, His reward is with Him, And His work before Him.’ ”
Zechariah 9:9 NKJV
9 “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.
Donkey was the steed of peace
King that entered a town on a donkey was one that was coming in peace
Contrasted with the king on a white horse
Conqueror

Are you experiencing this peace?

It is available (peace with God)
Ro 5:1 “1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,”
It is accessible (peace of God)
Php 4:6-7 “6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

2. King of Glory

Matthew 25:31 NKJV
31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.
Glory
Refers to His authority to rule and judge as King

The more of your heart over which this King rules, the more glory He receives

But He rules only by your consent and submission
Colossians 3:15 NKJV
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

3. King who comes in Name of Lord

Luke 19:38 NKJV
38 saying: “ ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
Anticipates Jesus
The One who was promised back in the Garden
Receiving the kingdom at His resurrection/ascension
Exercised at His Glorious Appearing
Yet already a reality

You can experience the entirety of God’s promises

That He will one day make all things new
That He makes you His adopted child
It’s one thing to have access to this
It’s another thing to live this out experientially in real-time

4. Eternal, Immortal, Invisible

1 Timothy 1:17 NKJV
17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
Unchanging attributes
Eternal
Immortal
Invisible

What that can mean to you

Growing awareness that you have only begun to scratch the surface of knowing Him and understanding Him
Here is this Baby
Bundled up
Laying in a feeding troth in a little stable
Yet this is the God who spoke everything into existence
And this is the reason for which He created you

5. King of all Kings

1 Timothy 6:15 NKJV
15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
Supreme Sovereign
Not a question of whether or not you will acknowledge Him as King
Question of which side of His reigning you will find yourself
As His Child
Or in terror and dread

Now What?

The questions we have to ask ourselves are these:

Am I certain that I have met the KING OF PEACE?
Are you certain that you have everlasting life?

Am I ready to make Jesus the King of my life?
Want to know how?
Text KING to 858.210.0291
Is Jesus King of ALL of my life, or am I holding something back for myself?
We can pray with you!
