Jesus is Son, Sovereign, and Steadfast. He is worthy of Worship, Service, and Trust.
How can a human baby be greater than an angel?

Jesus is The Son of God

People are fascinated by angels, and throughout Jewish history the angelic realm was also given great respect. Angels ministered to Elijah, were instrumental in the burial of Moses’ body, instructed Daniel, visited the Patriarchs, and many other instances.
Jesus is more than just a messenger. He is The Message.
The writer used the Old Testament to show the Deity of Jesus.
Quote from Psalm 2:7 - the Triumphant Return of the King.
Quote from 2 Samuel 7:14 - the promises given to David of his decedent who will sit on the throne.
In verse 6, (from Deut 32:43) All of heaven was called upon to worship the Son. Only God is worthy of worship. Thus, Jesus is God!
The angels were called upon to both announce and lead in praise at the birth of the Messiah.
Angels from the realms of glory, Wing your flight o’er all the earth; Ye who sang creation’s story Now proclaim Messiah’s birth. Come and worship, come and worship, Worship Christ, the newborn King.
Jesus is the Son of God! Worship Him!

Jesus is Sovereign

Angels are sent as servants. Jesus, though he came as a servant, is now Sovereign over all!
The quote from Psalm 45:6-7 declares the Messiahs right to reign.
He has an Eternal Throne.
He has A Righteous Rule.
He has been Anointed (he fulfills the offices of Prophet, Priest, and King).
Jesus is Sovereign! Serve Him!

Jesus is Steadfast

He is unchanging, immutable, steadfast and faithful.
The most constant thing we can imagine is the rotation and revolution of the earth around the sun. The solar system, the galaxy, the galactic neighborhood, the entire universe were all the work of his fingers.
That baby in a manger in Bethlehem spoke the worlds into existence, and his fingers crafted their beauty.
All these things will eventually perish, wear out. (Scientists estimate our sun has 5 billion years left). But Jesus is going to roll them all up like a dirty garment and they will be changed (Psalm 102:25-27).
Jesus is Steadfast, the same yesterday, today, and forever. Trust Him!
