Sunday Service

Well, we're out finishing off this series of Thanksgiving, this Sunday, and we're going to be looking at probably the greatest blessing that we received from the king of kings and Lord of lords, and that is the power of love. And so we're going to be looking in that direction today. And our Bible reading focuses on that from John chapter 15 verses 9 to 12. As the father has loved me. So have I love you now? Remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love. Just as I have kept, my father's commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this love each other as I have loved you and what we're going to look at today is the whole idea that love is a word of action. It's not just the fashion thing, but it's an action thing that is done for those who have need. let's, Prayer requests be in prayer for Leona. She had to really great days when she had people visiting her and it went really well. That's kind of fell apart yesterday evening and through the night, but she is resting well now, but we need to continue to be in prayer for her. And then I've got a message last night that John Han out of the pastor of the Baptist Church is, is very sick and that they're not certain whether it's covid or just a flu, but he is sick and we need to be in prayer for him as well. So, let's pray.

Mighty father. Our awesome King. Our Lord, Our Savior. You're the mighty one who is Is the one who brings us love and peace. And it is through that love and peace, that we have come to walk with you and may you be with us and bless us in this time together as we have come together to worship you, the mighty king. Father. We thank you for the many gifts. Did you send our way? And we praise you for that? We do come before you though with our hearts and our desires open to you. Lord we want to remember to always pray for those who are in need and the greatest need in our world today and have forever has been to come back to a relationship with you, the Mighty God and that is done as people recognize their sin and their need for a savior. And so we pray that your spirit would be active in our hearts to be able to express that, need to people who are lost and living in sin that they have a hope. I hope for a future and we pray for their hearts and their lives that they would be accepting of that. Need that they have and realize they need to take a step and know Jesus Christ as their savior. Father, we want to pray for the needs that have been mentioned. And we remember Leona, what a dear Lady of faith that is walk with us for many generations, that is encouraged and helped us to learn to follow you. And I'm sure continues to pray for the people of our community, in our church. We pray for her. Now, that you would be with her to give peace and comfort in the struggles that she is involved in. we do pray for those who have

been with her and going through this for Shirley and Nick and for a Jack and Aunt Janice as they have just been with her and I given their lives over to care met you in strengthen and enrich their lives because of this sacrifice. Father. We do want one. Also remember John Han. We thank you for the Ministries had and the Baptist Church here in this community in his desire to reach others around his community where he lives will pray for your touch on his life and your healing and restoration. May he be restored and be able to continue them in there for you? And father, we also recognize that each of us have requests that are on our hearts and I have desires to see your Mighty hand in Deliverance in all those those things that we consider as needs for our lives. So father may you touch each of us. The military has the whether it's health or Finance or other needs with pray for your Mighty touch. Father, we need to walk in your life. And so we pray that your spirit would be active in each of our hearts. That has, we lift our praises to you and song as we listen to the power of your word and your desire. May you draw Us near to to our Mighty God, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. and in his name, we ask all these things and then All right. I seen you with that. A Christmas-themed here. Let's begin with a word of Prayer. Precious father are mighty mighty king, the one, who knows us so well for you created us and you made all our inward parts and you know, what's better, even than we do? Father. We thank you that you love us enough that you would call us to be yours and give us the opportunity to receive the amazing Gift of Life. Father, as we worship now, may, we worship in power and strength by your spirit who gives wisdom and guidance that each of us, as we look to you, as we look to your word, may, we see your miraculous work and our lives in our hearts and the ability, you have to change us. Pray that your spirit would guide me that I would speak the words that you have laid upon my heart for your words. Change lives. Mine. Do not. So may your power and strength be evident in the name of Jesus our lord and savior. We ask these things. Amen. What we are looking at the last episode of Thanksgiving for anyway, for this series that we're looking at and it's the power of love and you know, as we look at the different powers in our world, truly, we can look at the power of the United States today. Wow, is a pretty great nation. Write a really powerful or we look at nuclear power and say, well, nothing could match the nuclear power or maybe our son. Can you imagine if it exploded? We'd all be gone, right? That's pretty high power. And I say that there is nothing more powerful than love itself though. Because all those Powers can't change your eternity. There's only one power that can change anybody's the eternal life. And that's the power of God's love for you and me. It's the power of action that comes to us and changes the possibilities of Our Lives.

Because he calls us, do we need terminal Destiny and we have that choice and that decision to me and is the power of God's love. That says. I'm not going to destroy mankind. I'm going to make a difference for mankind, you know, we send and we became a stain for God. We had no hope we were lost for all eternity. Even those who had Place their hope in God, over Generations were lost. Until Jesus came. And by the power of God, he lived the perfect life. He died on the cross. Which is an amazing thing. If you think about it, she shedding his blood every ounce of his blood on that cross. For everyone in the world giving every single person the opportunity to come and say yes. I trust in you as Lord and Savior and receive a change in their eternity.

Without any chance without having to do anything other than trust in the power of the Living God. It's the greatest power. None of those other powers can change your life. It can end it but I can't change it. Only The Power of Love can change your life and that's what we're going to look at today. When we look at first, John chapter 4, we're going to look at this passage and see the love that God has for each and everyone of us and also the power that you have. Do you realize that if you have trust in Jesus Christ as your lord and savior, you have the power of the Living God who has changed your life. And he wants you to take advantage of that power but so often we go around and we try to do things ourselves. Try to make a difference in life by doing what we want to do, rather than doing what God wants to do. And we're not changing lives. We're not making a difference and God wants us to make a difference in this lot. So let's go to the passage started verse 7 or reverse is 77 to 10.

John is so receptive of people, you know, he always has, you know, reaching out and just, you know, he's one of these guys, they would come up and give you a hug without even knowing you. When you look at John's life. What a character he was and still is he says, dear friends speaking to you and to me, you know, I'm over 2000 years and, you know, we can feel him. Dear friends. Let us love one. Another for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows, God. Whoever does not love, does not know. God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love Among Us. He sent his only one and only son into the world that we might live through him. This is love. Not that, we loved God, but that he loved us. And sent his son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

You see we didn't possess anything that could really change. Mankind's life. Oh, yeah, we could do things like help us become more Industrial in our effort and somehow provide for ourselves and all of those things but it didn't really change any person's life. It was only when God decided to come and to show his love for us through Jesus Christ, that we then had the opportunity to demonstrate true, love and power to our world. Our actions, what make the difference in scripture? Always goes through that he wants us. To be following him. And how do we do that? How do we truly follow God? Well, you say well, I've become a Christian. So I'm office, Lee following him. But you know, there's more to it than that as we've taken a look in the past about what we do. God calls us to be people of activity of the action, not people that sit on a Pew and listen to some Pastor, give a message, you know, as important as that might be for you. That's not what gives you power. What gives you power the strength of God thing in you to move out. 1st John 2 5 and 6 says, but if anyone obeys his word. The love of God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him. Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did live as Jesus did. Well, if you live as Jesus did, what is calling for is for us to act as Jesus acted? In other words. He wants us to be taking on the character of Jesus Christ. He wants you to be different than what you are at present. He wants me to be different than I am at present. He wants me to continue to grow in him. As efficient says he wants us to be filled out. Filled up with the Living God. So that every aspect of Our Lives portrays Christ in it, his love. Just spread from our lives and it can happen. You know that when you came to Jesus Christ and recognized your sinfulness that you were lost. You had no hope in this world. And you realize that Jesus Christ was the hope the strength you came to receive him as your lord and savior. You said, forgive me for my sins and come into my life and live in me and he did. That's what he did. You know, before you were a Christian. He wasn't living in your wife. You're really had no power. You had influence in the world, but you had no power for change or anything else, but when God came into your life in the power of the holy spirit in Jesus Christ, he began to make a difference in you and he still working to make a difference in your life. And the big question for each and every one of us. Dancer is, am I really listening? To that spirit, that is in me. That is working to change me. Am I listening to that? Is it making a difference in my life? Am I being a true representative of the Kingdom of Heaven here on this Earth? Because we all became members of the kingdom of heaven, when we received Jesus Christ, as Lord and savior. If you haven't received him as your lord and savior, not a member of the Kingdom, your lost. But you have that opportunity to become a member. When you choose to follow him. He's present. He's president alive John 4:24. If you remember, the passage Jesus is at the well, and he's talking to the Samaritan woman that has had five husbands, and she's living with another guy. Now, and Jesus tells her about her life and then she kind of gets into some spiritual stuff. And she says, we worship on this mountain, Mount gerizim that is close to the city in which she lives in, and you Jews, you Worship in Jerusalem. And so, Jesus changes her perspective at that point. In John 4:24. He says God is spirit and his worshipers must Worship in spirit and Truth. God is Spirit Well, in other words, God lives in us and worshipping him isn't going some place to worship him. It's allowing his work happened in our lives. And when we do that, we are worshiping. The one who is present in our lives is God present in your life. Are you allowing him to do the work? He wants to do in your life. And that's the big question.

Here is life. Here is life. John 1st, John 5:11, and this is a testimony. God has given us eternal life and this life in his time. You know, if I have asked Jesus Christ into my life, I received the one who truly gives eternal life. Why? Because he is taking my sins. He's washed them away and made me acceptable to the Living God.

He's made me acceptable to the Living. God. We have become a new work in him. We've totally changed. Why? Because we're no longer living by our cells. Were not just a single body where a body that is filled with God. His presence is there and we need to be people who want to take advantage of that presents.

You know, it and it begins with our willingness. Hippie people of love in love, requires a bit of sacrifice on a person's part, 2 to reach others. There is a point of sacrifice that happens. Jesus showed us that picture when he chose to leave the glory of Heaven. And come to Earth and live that lot. Perfect life, you know, living with mankind, wasn't a great and awesome thing. He left something far more important. Imagine you being called to go to the jungles of Africa.

And live in a, in a tent. And I have no running water. No toilet. None of those things that you have now. Okay. Well, what Jesus did was far worse than that. If you consider and just gives you an offense of what he did. There was a amazing sacrifice for Christ, but he not only came to do that, but he was willing to give his life for you. Okay, so when you think about love and how God wants you to use your life, it's the idea of not just saying. Well, I'm loved by God and I love people. And that's great. It's be willing to take that Living. God that is in you and allowing him to change you and make you usable. For his kingdom is the idea of having his presence in his power. In you Romans. 3:25 says God presented Christ. As a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood. To be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand. Unpunished at goes on to say that all those who came before and had faith in God, weren't punished for dying and send. Then we waited till Christ's sacrifice to cover their sins. And so their faith, LED them forward. Anyway, all that to say is Jesus Christ, sacrifice his life and he when he says, I want you to be like Christ. He says I want you to be willing. To sacrifice your life so that God can use you in this world. And sometimes the sacrifices aren't huge sacrifice. It is just a matter of doing things for other people, in the Name of Christ. Sometimes your giant sacrifices, God asks you to do something like go to a different country, like the Africa, or southeast, Asia, or South America or something to minister for him. You know, we all have different calls, but God is calling each and everyone of us to step up and do something for him. And the question for each of us is okay, father. What is it that you have for me to do for you? You know, what is my Act of love? But you are requiring of me.

You know, we should be unconstrained in our efforts to follow the Living. God. Let's read about that. In the next few versus versus 8 are excuse me, 11 to 14. Says dear friends since God. So loved us. We also are to love one. Another no one has ever seen God, but if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is made complete enough. This is how we know that we live in him, and he and us, he has given us a spirit and we have seen and testify that the father has sent his son to be the savior of the world. You know, that's kind of a little gospel message right there. The whole idea that Jesus Christ came and died for the world and then when he does and we understand that and receive them as Savior, we have the spirit. Okay, that's a pretty simple message of Salvation. And yet it is true.

But the willingness to you ourselves to God and allow him to use us comes from what Christ did for us. He was willing to give everything for your life. Imagine that. Everything. You know, it. How much are we willing to give back to him? You know, are we giving him a trickle of Our Lives? Are we allowing him to flow powerful through us? You know, when The Power of Love is in us, when we okay Lord. I'm humbled and I yield my life into your hands. Take me and use me as you would use me. Not. Okay. Well, I'm willing to give up a little bit. You understand the difference when we yield to God. It's he who chooses the work and the effort that we put in. When we choose to do it ourselves, we kind of let out a little bit of time and let him work. You know, what we need to understand is the god completed the work. When we came to know him as Lord and savior. Sometimes we struggle with that because we recognize, they're sending our lives, but truly, when God took your life after, you had yielded it into his hands and saved you. He totally turned you around. He made the complete difference in your life. When God looks at you, he looks at one who is seeing through the blood of Christ. You are washed clean. You are righteous. You Are Holy before the Living God.

And it is our desire and our our part to want to seek to live that way. It ought to be anyway. In 2nd Corinthians, 5:17 Paul writes these words. Therefore if anyone is in Christ of the new creation has come. Okay. He totally changed outs. Egypt totally changed us. The old is gone. The newest here. It's here already. I am creature. I have an eternal life. I am Bound for heaven. I might live in an immortal body, but I have an immortal body that is ready to be received when I pass away from this life and I have eternal hope in heaven where there is no pain. No suffering where I live a life of joy and Thanksgiving for all eternity. Totally change. What? Where was I before I got there? Well, I was covered in sin. I was Despicable in the eyes of God.

I was bound for an eternity of pain and suffering in hell. Right, alongside Satan and Judas, and all the other sinful people, you can think of that was my destiny.

Only one thing, change it. The work of love, the powerful work of love in Jesus Christ, changed that destiny. He lives in us so that we can know. We have that eternal life. You knowing, when we push him down and say, don't be so active in my life. I want to do things. My way. We are really restraining the power that God wants to give our lives.

Don't you want real power? That really makes a change in life and that's what God wants to give us 1st. John 3:24 says, the one who keeps God's commands lives in them. And he in them in, this is how we know that he lives in us. We know it by the spirit, he gave us see when the spirit is active and moving and Powerful in our lives. It does make a huge difference in our ability to Lead others before him, whether it's to follow him to know him as Lord and Savior are whether it is to help them grow in that fullness. That's why the Church of God is so important because we are the fellowship of Jesus Christ. And we work together to fill ourselves up in the fullness of who Christ is And we can only do that as we work together and we help one another. That's what love is about. If you love each other in this room, then you will do whatever you can to help the other person, know Christ, even more Act of love in our lives and part of the power. You're taking part in the power of the Living God. When you choose to help one another, And we do this for the world. God came into the world not to condemn it but to change it and we see that in John 3:16, the love of God free 16 and 17 the love of God in 17 and says for God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world. But to save the world through him. You know, if you ever wanted to have a job definition for your life. When you become a Christian, this is God's definition for your life. Not to condemn the world but to help the world. See its need for Jesus Christ. That's our job. That's what we're called to do in this world. Okay. So the final connection, let's make the great connection, our lives with God's wife, 1st. John 4, 15 to 18. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the son of God, God lives in them, and they in God. And so, we know and rely on the love, God has for us. God is love and other words, God is a power, the strings, the energy to make a difference in your life, in my life. Whoever lives in, love lives in God, and God in them. This is, how love is made complete among us, so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment in this world. We are like, Jesus.

Wow, that's the pursuit. As Believers in Christ, that's the pursuit. I want to be like, Jesus Will. What is Jesus? He's the power that changed your life.

From Sand, and he'll to Eternity in glory. Is made that much of a difference. Nothing else could make that difference, not those things. I started at at the beginning United States can't change your life and make a difference for all eternity.

The nuclear power can't change your life for all eternity in the sun. Exploding can't change your life for all eternity. Only Jesus Christ. Did and kin.

For all eternity.

Back to 1st, John 3:24. The one who keeps God's commands lives in him and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us. We know it by the spirit he gave us. The spirit desires us to follow the commands of God and the command of God is to be like Jesus in the world. Well, why did he come? He came to make a difference in our lives to help us know him. And then walk with him in this life. We have two jobs, one to help others know, Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior, and want to help others grow in Jesus Christ, as Lord. And Savior. Those are the two works that you and I have in terms of our Eternal destiny.

How active are we in those works up to you, to figure that out? But I hope that you have a heart and a desire to be involved in those activities. The activity of the love. If you're involved in those activities in your life, you're involved in what God has desired for you 1st. Peter. 3:18 says for Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous to bring you to God. He is put to death in the body but made alive in the spirit. He wants. The change the lives of the people of this world. And he wants to do it through you. It is God working in you and through you, that can make a difference in life for all eternity. You changed your life. Are you willing to allow him to use you to change others lives? It's the power of love that you have in your lot. That's The Power of Love. Not extended, just the family or friends to the world. God wants us to be changing the world. And we can have confidence in this. Because God said I'm with you always, I have work for you to do. I'm going to be involved in that work. So I can be confident that you will accomplish the work I have for you. If you are willing to submit to my work in your life. Ephesians 4:12, the goal that we have for this in him and threw him through faith. In him. We may approach god with freedom and confidence, I can have the confidence that God is going to use my life. And so can you you can have the confidence that God will use your life if you just come before him and say Here, I Am Lord. Take me and use me in whatever way you desire. I'm not going to determine the plans do you have for my life, but I'm going to let you determine those plans. And if you truly see God and want his work done in your life. You will see those plans and you will be involved in those plans. He has for your life. We don't have to fear the world. We don't have to fear the world because we have the power of love in our lives. And God is going to allow you to use that love as long as he wants you on the face of this earth when he decides to take you home. Hallelujah. No problem. But as long as I'm here, I don't have to fear what God has called me to do. I can continue to do it, Hebrews 3:13 6 as so we have this confidence. The Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid. What can Mortals do to me. You know, they can't take Christ from you. The Power of Love is a sticking power. He's with you. He's going to be with you. The world can't take him from you, Satan. Can't take him from you. The only struggle you have is your willingness. Forgive God, that power. Did he has for you in his life? He wants to give you the power. The power of love for a world in need. For all of us. And so the message this morning is, am I listening to God? Am I wanting what he has for my life? It makes all the difference in how you live your life in this world. Am I Living For him or for myself? And believe me, if we live for him. There is blessing. After blessing in our lives. We live for ourselves. Those blessings become Dad. We move along.

Butt spray. Our gracious Father in heaven. We thank you for the mighty Power of Love That Came To Earth to change your locks for many here. They have receive that love and their lives are changed and they have any paternal wonderful destiny. But there are some here today that I've never made that commitment that I've never come to you and said, Lord, I ask for your forgiveness for my sins and I want my life to be yours. So

May you touch Hearts here even now The lead them to make changes in their lives, either to serve you more diligently or to come to serve you as a new. And pure Soul through Jesus Christ. And with Father in heaven, we thank you for the joy that we have because of your love for us. We thank you for that transforming power. And we pray as we move out of this building and into the life, you called us to that. We would remember that. We are powerful because we have the Living.
