The question can be answered in many ways, but the richest answer is that a Christian is one who has God as Father.

The idea that all are children of God is not found in the Bible anywhere.

The entire Christian life has to be understood in terms of it.
/Jesus always thought of Himself as Son of God in a unique sense, so He always thought of His followers as children of His heavenly Father, members of the same divine family.
