Psalm 95:1–5 (ESV)
1 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! 2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! 3 For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. 4 In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. 5 The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.
Introduction:
This Psalm is written to urge the hearers and readers to exalt God. The author seeks to display God’s worthiness in both His deeds and power.
In summation the Psalm reminds us all of how we should exhibit hearts of thankfulness toward God.
Transition: One of the first ways the psalmists proposes in found in verse 1.
Worship God (v.1)
“1 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!”
Sing to the Lord
Make a joyful noise
He is the rock of our salvation - Our protector and savior, he is our keeper and our savior, our strong helper

Transition: Being thankful means we will outwardly express gratitude toward God
Express Gratitude (v.2)
“2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!”
In His presence
I recognize that God is everywhere and so did the Psalmist. Yet, Israel believed the tent (tabernacle) was a place where God dwelled. For them to go up to the tabernacle was to be in the presence of God. They journeyed to the place where God dwelled to tell God Thank you.

Acknowledge God’s Greatness (vv.3-5)
