Small family reunion this past week.

Oldest home on leave, 2nd oldest in from work & school, parents came up to visit, only brother came in from out of town as well.
Only missing a sis-in-law, daughter-in-law and the most amazing grandchild ever!
It’s really difficult to get everyone together at one time!
We decided to have an early Thanksgiving-style dinner together.
I’ve alway enjoyed Thanksgiving but this was really special.
Looking at my wife, parents, children and brother all at one table was nearly overwhelming.
I was so happy, so grateful to be together.
We were together, we were sharing life, celebrating our blessings.
Everyone has headed back to their respective homes now but the joy of that blessing remains.
And it occurs to me that I want that kind of gratitude and joy to become more of my “default setting.”
Unity (togetherness) should generate gratitude, joy, contentment.
Made for Unity
Our original “default setting” was perfect unity.
Unified Communities
After the Fall, God brought His people into unified communities to demonstrate His nature and will.
Joyful Community
How glad...
With grateful hearts.
Warning: Don’t stop doing this!
Action:
Hold up your phone.
Now, go through your contacts and find someone you’ve been missing and text them to ask them join you.
Missing you, love you.
Join them for a meal, a ball game, some event that brings you together in gladness.
Then, invite them to become part of the community of faith.
Explore it.
Rejoin it.
