Verse 1-2

At this point the church is ab out 5-6 years old. Chritianity is sweeping through Judea and many Jews are being saved. But the church is overlooking the scripture where it says that whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Many of times we say we’re welcoming we’re loving, but what happens if God was to really challenge the love we claim to express.
The jews would be judging this man, based off of his appearance, but this man is a god fearing, giving and praying man.

Verses 3-8

Corneilius is considered "unclean' but knows to observe the times to pray with an expectation.
The angel visits him and speaks his language and gave him orders like a military instruction and like a good soldier he responds and obeys immediately.

Verse 9

This is usually a 36 hour journey, but they did it in half! The recognized the urgency.
There coming with urgency and Peter is clueless of God's plan.
The Jews forgot that they were chosen, not because they were so great but because of sovereign Grace to bring people into God. The forgot that they too were only saved by grace. pride convinced them they were special.
Their tradition led to prejudice.

Verse 10-14

The voice of Godinvited Peter to do something completely repulsive to a devout Jew: “kill and eat” these unclean animals (10:13).
God had forbidden the Israelites to eat such animals under the old covenant (Lev. 11).
But during Jesus’ earthly ministry, He had declared all food “clean.” The Old Testament ban on certain foods had served its ceremonial and educational purpose and was no longer needed (Mark 7:14-19; Luke 11:39-41; cf. Rom. 14:14). S
till, as a matter of preference deeply rooted in his Jewish upbringing, Peter resisted in the strongest terms.

verse 15-16

God tell him 3 times! That’s how hard his heart is hardening.
What God has called clean!

verse 17-20

Peter is pondering the dream and suddenly the answer to his dream enter into the gate and Holy Ghost helps him undertand the dream.

verse 21-22

They knew they were considered unclean so they called from the gate......
Cornelous let paul know he was commanded by God to give them the Gospel.

Verse 23

Normally, Jews didn’t feed and lodge Gentiles, but the Lord’s vivid illustration and direct command had its effect on the apostle.
