Series 1 PETER: Hope & Holiness in a Hostile World | Week Five Is there such a thing as ‘good suffering’ or is it always bad? And if there is a good type of suffering, what’s the difference between that and the bad variety? In chapters 3 and 4 of his letter, Peter shows us that there is a difference and that we can choose the good variety. Good suffering is about doing what is right instead of what’s wrong. Good suffering is when we seek vindication from God instead of ourselves or others. And good suffering is endured in the strength of Jesus Christ, who not only suffered before us, but also triumphed for us, so we could be completely vindicated through his victory. This is what good suffering looks like. And when we face suffering in this way, we do not need to be afraid – because Jesus is Lord! Speaker: Dan Kroon
