How to be a Rock-Solid Christian

(David Gives 12 Signs)

Psalm 15

1- Walk is blameless

Above reproach, beyond criticism. Unable to accuse of wrongdoing. How? Col. 1:21-23; Jude 24; 1 Cor. 1:7-8 All about relationship! God declares. “My beloved son..” God’s opinion and action alone makes you blameless.

2- Does what is righteous

Only God’s righteousness counts and He MUST give it to you. Rom 3:10-12; Rom. 3:21-24

For not knowing about God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God. (Romans 10:3)

3-Speaks the truth

Speaks what Jesus speaks. “I AM the way, the truth…” Always ask God to speak His will through you. 1 Cor. 10:31-Do all for glory of God.

4-No slander

No putdowns. See Phil. 2:3-look up to others. Nobody likes to be looked down upon. How be a light?

5-Does neighbor no wrong

Matt. 22:36 Love neighbor AS self. Luke 6:27-DO good to those who hate you. (Memorize) Be the best neighbor EVER! Be a blessing!!!

6-Casts no slur on anyone

Insult or insinuate. Never come to you or listen to you about Jesus. Our great commission: make disciples. Mat 28:19-20

7-Despises a vile man (Does not honor-See #8)

A "vile" man is a very wicked, profligate, and abandoned creature, one that is to every good work reprobate; and such sometimes are in high places, ( Psalms 12:8 ) ( Daniel 11:21 ) ; and are greatly caressed and esteemed by the men of the world; but then, as they are an abomination to God, they should be despised by his people, let them be what they will as to their riches, honours, and wisdom among men; as Haman was by Mordecai, ( Esther 3:2 ) ; and Ahab by Elisha, ( 2 Kings 3:14 ) ; and such who keep company with, and express a delight and pleasure in such sort of persons, ought by no means to have a place in the house of God. BST

8-Honors those who fear God

Gal. 6:10"As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith." Why? See 9B

9-Keeps his oath (Keeps his word or promises)

If you did not follow through with a prayer request, or any help you promised, fix it today and do the right thing. God hates a lying tongue (Proverbs 6:17 and 19)

10- Even when it hurts See Matt 10:22 - Endure to end=success/saved.

Quote from addict: “It has been said that, ‘Pain is just weakness leaving your body.’ I'm not sure who said it but it makes a lot of sense in this situation. To that end as we go through this pain, in keeping our oath, we become stronger and we will not be shaken. I certainly felt that, and know that today I am stronger and more confident than I was 6 months ago, for keeping my oath.”

11-Lends his money without usury (A giver not a taker)

Luke 6:38-Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.

12-Does not accept a bribe

Deuteronomy 16:19-Do not accept any bribes, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.

He who does these things will never be shaken

Interesting quote: “The Talmud (Torah commentary) says that the 613 commands of the Pentateuch (Torah) are all summarized in this psalm.” [SDA Commentary]
