What if you lived each day with faith in Christ?

During periods of great change, answers do not last very long but a question is worth a lot. The word question is derived from the Latin quaerere (to seek), which is the same root as the word quest. Jon Collins of Stanford's Graduate School of Business has compiled the following list of questions of wonder:

Albert Einstein: What would a light wave look like to someone keeping pace with it?

Bill Bowerman (inventor of Nike shoes): What happens if I pour rubber into my waffle iron?

Fred Smith (founder of Federal Express): Why can't there be reliable overnight mail service?

Godfrey Hounsfield (inventor of the CAT scanner): Why can't we see in three dimensions what is inside a human body without cutting it open?

Masaru Ibuka (honorary chairman, Sony): Why don't we remove the recording function and speakers and put headphones in the recorder? (Result: the Sony Walkman.)

Many of these questions were deemed ridiculous at first. Other shoe companies thought Bowerman's waffle shoe was a “really stupid idea.” Godfrey Hounsfield was told the CAT scan was “impractical.” Masaru Ibuka got comments like: “A recorder with no speaker and no recorder—are you crazy?” And Fred Smith proposed the idea of Federal Express in a paper at Yale and got a C.

While all these questions led to great discoveries, there is one question that is applicable to us as Christians—what if we lived our lives with complete faith in Christ? Numerous Scriptures tell us of the power of faith and how through faith we can do anything. But do we truly believe that? Are we living by faith?

Hebrews 11 records name after name of biblical people who lived by faith and accomplished great things as a result of their faith. Take some time right now and read all of Hebrews 11. Write down each person’s name and what they accomplished by having faith.

One thing you’ll notice is that these people were not perfect. Moses made excuses for not obeying God, Abraham doubted God’s promise, Rahab was a harlot, and Noah fell into sin later in life. God never says we must be perfect to accomplish great things; He merely requires our faith.

Are you living by faith today? Do you trust God to provide for your needs? Our God can do anything! Grasp on to the faith of the men and women of the Bible. Claim it for your own and believe that God can do anything in your life today.
