Victory in Psalm 107

Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting. (Psalm 107:1) [The character of God Is Unchageable]

Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary (Psalm 107:2) [In every war there is an enemy]

And gathered from the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south. (Psalm 107:3)[Like amother hen gathers her chicks]

They wandered in the wilderness in a desert region; They did not find a way to an inhabited city. (Psalm 107:4)[Aimless pursuit]

They were hungry and thirsty; Their soul fainted within them. (Psalm 107:5)[ Not just uncomfortable, but hungry]

Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He delivered them out of their distresses. (Psalm 107:6)[not muttered under their breath]

He led them also by a straight way, To go to an inhabited city. (Psalm 107:7)[the shortest distance between two points]

Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, And for His wonders to the sons of men! (Psalm 107:8)[heartfelt response]

For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, And the hungry soul He has filled with what is good. (Psalm 107:9)[full, enriched ,content]

There were those who dwelt in darkness and in the shadow of death, Prisoners in misery and chains, (Psalm 107:10)[apart from Christ there is no light]

Because they had rebelled against the words of God And spurned the counsel of the Most High. (Psalm 107:11)[deliberate disobedience]

Therefore He humbled their heart with labor; They stumbled and there was none to help. (Psalm 107:12)[put us in our place or in perspective]

Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses. (Psalm 107:13)[our fault not His]

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death And broke their bands apart. (Psalm 107:14)[earth is a shadow of heaven]

Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, And for His wonders to the sons of men! (Psalm 107:15)[amazing Grace]

For He has shattered gates of bronze And cut bars of iron asunder. (Psalm 107:16)[literally anihillated

Fools, because of their rebellious way, And because of their iniquities, were afflicted. (Psalm 107:17)[It’s OUR fault]

Their soul abhorred all kinds of food, And they drew near to the gates of death. (Psalm 107:18)[detested anything that would cause us to live]

Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses. (Psalm 107:19)[the Highest Authority, man couldn’t help]

He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. (Psalm 107:20)[the Bible is a book of recovery or restoration,10,40,100 times]

Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, And for His wonders to the sons of men! (Psalm 107:21)[it is a privilege to praise God]

Let them also offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, And tell of His works with joyful singing. (Psalm 107:22) [tonight is a true celebration of Victory over sin by the Redeemed of God ]
