“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Matthew 28:19-20 KJV
- GO
Introduction:
My brothers and sisters I’m a firm believer that each one of us no matter what we have done, where we have been or any mistakes that we made in our life have a purpose and a call on our life.
We may not always understand it, it may take some time to figure it out. But we all have a mission, we all have an assignment that God has anointed us to do.
Can I just remind somebody that you’re not just ordinary, you’re not just breathing for the sake of breathing.
Your here for a mission
The reason you’re here is because you have an assignment
The reason some things couldn’t take you out because you have an assignment and a purpose and no matter haw the enemy tested you can’t leave tifs earth until your assignment and purpose is fulfilled.
Do I have anyone that can agree with the point that, Because I have assignment does not mean your perfect, it does not mean you will not make any mistakes but through it all you can still say there is something that God has called me to do and in spite of all of our mistakes God still has anointing and a mission for your life.
Why don’t you just look at the person next to you and say “I m here on a mission”
My brothers and sisters the enemy’s main objective and focus is to detour you, distract you and from your mission.
He will do anything he can to through you off course, but do I have anyone in the room today that can say no matter what the enemy through my way. I’m determined to fulfill, the mission and the commission that God has placed and assigned on my life
Philipians 1:6 confirms that when says
being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Text:
To those of you who know God has something for you to complete, don’t give up when your faced with trials and tribulations, it was James 1:2 that says count it all joy when faced with trials because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
I come to encourage you be not weary in well doing. In due season ye shall reap if we fainted not.
We must consider and use as an example the one and only Jesus who fulfilled his purpose and his mission for salvation and redemption of man mankind.
Throughout the book of Matthew in particular in Matthew 28 we find a very interesting scene we find Jesus, after the resurrection, after fulfilling his mission he gives the disciples what some call the great commission.
In spite of all the imperfections of the disciples he returns and gives them the commission to GO.
Yes, he returns to the same Peter who denied him three times and gives him a commission.
Yes, he returns and shows himself to Thomas who, did not even believe and doubted the resurrection, and he gives him a commission.
He returns to the same Matthew the ex-tax collector, who would rob people of their goods and he gives him a commission.
He returns to James who was somewhat Selfish by asking to sit at the right hand of Jesus when he gets to his kingdom and he gives him a commission.
He revealed himself to them and He asured them of three things
He assures them of his POWER:
Because only someone with super natural power could raise himself up and reveal himself to the disciples as he did.
He assures them of his COMFORT:
Because of their fear he assured them of his presence through the Holy Spirit.
Lastly he gives them the commission to GO!
Jesus ,went right ahead and gave his charge: Just as Jesus told his disciples to GO and make disciples of men. God has authorized and commanded Jesus to commission each one of us to GO!
Jesus, was the prime example of what it meant to go and be on a mission.j
Let’s look at how his mission started
If we rewind and go to the book of
---Matthew 27 we find Judas who took the coins used to betray Jesus and turned them and and took his self out. and the benefit of the silver went to benefit those who were less fortunate.
God has a way of turning around whatever is meant for evil for guy good.
In the 27th book of Matthew the governor asked Jesus are you the king of the Jews?
Jesus did not respond with a word, because he understood what his mission was.
When you know your mission your words can't add up to what your work had done.
Jesus works had already spoken for him.
However, when they released One prisoner, they refused to release Jesus after Pilot clearly could not find any fault in him.
Before we get to Matthew 28, Matthew 27 gives a very disturbing scene of Jesus crucifix.
They took him and stripped him of his clothes and dressed him in a red toga
They planted a crown of thornbrushes on his head.
They put nail in his right hand,
They mocked and mourned him
They nailed him to the cross, waiting for him to die.
Above the cross they labeled it, this is Jesus the king of the Jews.
While on the cross, there were those who mocked him and said this is the same Jesus who stated that of you destroy this temple in three days I will raise it up.
They replied of this be the same Jesus, why don't you save yourself, and come down from that cross.
However, Jesus understood his mission and there is one thing we must understand. That when yiu know your mission and your call, you can expect a fight.
Although they saw him going through. They didnt understand his mission. Often times people will see you going through and wonder how can this person be in the situation they are in if they are supposed to be a child of God. However, it's often your trials, your trials, your tribulations your hard and difficult times that are preparing you for the anointing and the mission that God has assigned to your life.
Sure enough, Jesus could have came across the cross, however he understood that the mission wasn't about him. There was something greater behind, his pain, there was something great behind his suffering, his tears, behind his torment.
Often times my brothers and sister when we are on this spiritual process we can't see the Forrest for the trees, in other words we can't see what God has in store for us after we come out of the crucifixion,
Can I just encourage about two or three individuals who feel.ad though they are going through a personal crucifixion, who feel as though, they are being pierced, and mocked, who feels as though they are being ridiculed and abused, if you can hang in there just a little while longer, God is getting ready to resurrect you from some things.
From noon until three he cried, God why have though forsaken me.
However, although Jesus himself felt forsaken, it was at that moment that God was preparing him to transition him from the fleshy man the spiritual man.
*We some times have to be forsaken to actually tap into who and what God has called us to be in the spirit.
He has to take us to a transition process to kill somethings in my flesh.
Jesus cried his last breath
“At that moment, the Temple curtain was ripped in two, top to bottom. There was an earthquake, and rocks were split in pieces. What’s more, tombs were opened up, and many bodies of believers asleep in their graves were raised. (After Jesus’ resurrection, they left the tombs, entered the holy city, and appeared to many.)”
However, tells someone,
Thats not the end of the story~
*Just like it wasn't the end of his story it's not the end of your story.
Just because he was down does not mean he was out
Just because you’re down. Does not mean that you’re out.
They took him down to the graveside.
They placed extra linen on him, out and extra stone on his grave to ensure he wouldn't get up.
But how many testify to the fact that when your mission is to complete his mission, can't nobody, nothing and anything keep you down.
They must have forgotten when Jesus stated that if you destroy this temple. In three days, I will raise it up.
When, I’m on his mission, the mission, plots and plans of others can not prosper,
Isaiah 54:17 states it like this
[17] No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemned.
Because he stayed there one day, he stayed there two days,
However, early the third day morning,
He got up with all power in his hands.
Power to heal, Power to deliver, and power to set free.
Mary and Martha came to the grave site the next day. Expecting to see the Body of Jesus to have a vigil. However, what they found was two gaurds and Jesus grave clothes, stated why are you looking for the living amongst the dead,
He is not here. He is risen, as he said, come see the place he place where the lord was laid.
The Jewish Leaders after seeing an empty grave tried to convince the people that disciples have stolen his body to deny his power, to discredit, the victory that God had not only given him but also given us.
Some us are in this same situation, When people may try to discredit the miracles and the working that God is doing in your life.
When you see the empty Grave, the angels even gave
Mary and Martha a Command, he tells them to GO and tell his disciples that he is risen.
Before Mary and Martha could seek him could reach the disciples Jesus had
Met the Disciples in Galilee.
However there was a mass difference in the Jesus Pre-resurrection and the Jesus Post Resurrection.
The last time the disciples saw him he was a victim, This time they saw him he was victorious, The last time they saw him he was weeping, this time saw him he was joyful, The last time they saw he had nails in his hands, This time they saw him he had all power in his hands, The last time they saw he had a crown of thorns on his head, this time they saw him he had been crowned king of kings, the last time they saw him he was hanging on a cross, this time they saw him, his direction was to pick up your cross, and follow me.
He explained to them, I don’t want you to keep it a secret but GO, tell somebody,
For I’m with you…
The same mission Jesus gave his disciples. He wants us to have the same decree and that i gooo, I want to tell you.
There was a song that says that the Safest place in the entire world. Is in the will of God.
Though trials be great, and the way seems hard it’s still in the will of God.
It maybe on the mount peak, or in, the prison walls, but if God says Go. Go
Look at somebody and say Go.
It maybe difficult at rimes but ….Go
Friends may leave your side but…Go
Sickness maybe in your body but Go,
Trials may come but Go,
He gives them directions as to what to do when they go. He says make disciples, of ALL nations,
I don’t know about you but I was included in the ALL.
Tell somebody you were included in the ALL.
He said in his word in Matthew 11: 28-29 Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me for I-am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest for your souls.
Baptizing them, in the name of the Father, the Son and Holyghost, Teach, them, and he promises them one last thing, that when you do this your not doing it on your own.
He gives them the a lasting promise that I’m with you always, even unto the need of the world.
Is there anybody in here that can say even when I made some decisions that may not have been the best, God was still with me because he understood that I had an assignment on my life.
David said it best in Psalms 139 7-12 Wither Shall I go from thy spirit? Or wither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there, If I make my bed in hell you are there.
In other words we can’t escape the command to GO!
We can’t escape his presence.
He says
I don’t know about you but I still believe in the baptism of the
Holyghost.
Sometimes all you have to do is make an effort to Go!! And God will intervene.
It was the 10 Lepers who was commanded by Jesus to Go show themselves to the preists and as they went they were healed. If you Go!! God can heal you while you’re on your way
Can I just encourage you to keep son Going. Go through the pain.
Go through the rain.
Go through the heartache.
Go Go Go.
Before I leave. I want to give you a spiritual boost.
On your mark get set Go!!!!
Alter Call for those who has lost their will to go and for those who are discouraged to keep going.
