A Reason for Joy-Philippians 1:1-11

To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the overseers and deacons:
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thanksgiving and Prayer
3 I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, 4 always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. 7 It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. 8 For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. 9 And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, 10 so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
The work of the Gospel must be consistent.
Truth often suffers most by the heat of its defenders than from the arguments of its opposers.
William Penn
We must be consistent in pursuing the work of the Gospel in all that we do. May we be guilty of never ceasing.
The work of the Gospel will be completed one day.
Let us not forget the goal and blessed future in our work for the Lord.
Before we get all big headed about our work, do not forget it is the work of Christ in us!
The work of the Gospel will be completed one day and he will be glorified.
The work of the Gospel is corporate.
The worship of God is not a rule of safety—it is an adventure of the spirit.
Alfred North Whitehead (safety in numbers v. a group of the redeemed)
What we need in the modern church are believers who have an adventurous spirit as we seek to bring God glory together.
An adventurous spirit and the encouragement of others in the work should be a reality.
The work of the Gospel is sufficient.
The Church has many tasks but only one mission.
The primer for the church is the work of the Gospel. Let the Gospel be the catalyst for seeing his work accomplished.
Psalm 24 ESV
A Psalm of David. The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers. Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. He will receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle! Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory! Selah
