Summary

Last week in our Identity Series, we talked about our position in Christ
What do you see when you look in the mirror?
Our emotions will often follow what we believe about ourselves
When God sees us in Christ…he doesn’t see us in our sinful state, he sees us in His son..
Forgiven, Accepted, Redeemed, Reconciled, Justified
You are not your mistakes
This week we are going to talk about purpose
Scratch Timeline
But we give everything to realize our scratch dreams
What was God’s reason for saving you and then keeping you on earth?
God has a plan for you, and it involves othe people
“I have saved you from the prison of your sin, and I want you to stay here, and to free as many people as you can”
God wants to use you to bring freedom to other people’s lives
We have only one life to live for Christ on this earth. This is not practice.

Main Body

Be The Light - Matthew 5:14-16“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
If we aren’t talking about Jesus, who is? If we aren’t shining, what is?
Give of Ourselves- John 12:24-26 “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.”
When we truly die to ourselves, that when we begin to bear fruit
He is going to live through us

God has equipped you

Equipped - Hebrews 13:20-21 - Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, 21 equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
God hasn’t just called you to an impossible task, and then left you alone.
He has given you everything you need…He is with you. His Spirit lives inside of you, and that is where the power to represent comes from
Shine where God has put you and gifted you
Not everyone is supposed to preach, or to sing on a worship team
You can have influence where you are at
God put you where you are so that people within your sphere of influence will have a handy guide around when they seek God and perhaps reach out for Him—in order that they can actually find Him.
You have more influence in your circles, than I ever could
You can be the one to invite a friend to come out on Wednesday night. (You may not be the one preaching, but you can give the invitation, where they can hear about the Gospel)
The amount of influence we will have on our generation is up to us.
God has given you everything you need!
We are not meant to just sit on the sidelines, as others fulfill a purpose in the “game,”....we are players as well. We are not just consumers, but contributors.
You are a valuable contributor in the kingdom of God
Inspiration
Don’t ever let your insecurities tell you, you can’t have an impact
Don’t ever let the looks and comments of scoffers cause you to back down from the purpose God has called you to!
Don’t ever say your life doesn’t matter
Don’t ever say God can’t use you
God Almighty has called you, he has gifted you, and He has equipped you!
Get in the game!!!

ABC’s of salvation

Prayer (pray this in your heart, as I pray it out loud)Dear Lord Jesus I believe you're the son of God. I believe that on the cross you took my sin, my shame, and my guilt, and you died for it. You faced hell for me so I wouldn't have to go. You rose from the dead to give me a place in heaven, a purpose on earth, and a relationship with your father. Today Lord Jesus I turn from my sin to be born again. God is my father, Jesus is my savior, the Holy Spirit is my helper, and heaven is my home. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
